Announcing: The Generation Seven Character Battle Contest

Welcome to my seventh character battle contest! The theme for this contest, as voted on by you, is an old-school vs. new-school contest--the classics versus the new guys. The title is aptly named--not only is it the seventh contest, but it also pays homage to the seven generations of consoles that have come since video games began. I call it a console war. 128 characters, divided up by the 4 major gaming platforms (Nintendo, Sega, Sony, and Microsoft) battle it out to see who is the best. Once again, this contest will be sponsored by the Fantasy World Network. For the returning players, nothing has changed in terms of points and how it's run. The only major change was an addition of a prize choice in the 3rd place level--I've thrown in Wii Points as a possible prize.

Once again, the grand prize for the winner is a choice of a video game of your choosing, or a $50 gift card to EB Games, GameStop, or Hot Topic, or $50 in cash! Prizes are also available for the 2nd and 3rd place finishers as well!

Some general stuff:

--This contest is open to ANYONE. Yes, ANYONE. There is no age restriction, gender restriction, parental permission, or geographical limit. ANYONE can enter.
--This contest is a competition in which you, the entrant, can earn points by correctly predicting winners via a creation of a standard elimination-style tournament bracket. More details are in the FAQ.
--This contest will last about 2 and a half months, beginning July 9, 2007, and ending in mid-September, barring any interruptions to the contest schedule.
