Tomorrow, I may eat another house plant.
Still alive, everyone.
It's been nearly a week since my last post, and that was just to let everyone know about new updates to Mad Squirrel...which no one has even bothered to look at.
I began my job with the Lottery on Thursday, and so far, not bad. They're training me in the fine arts of opening mail and punching in renewal lotto subscriptions. Yes, you can subscribe to the Lottery--you have the ability to play for 6 months or a year, you choose your games and numbers, and you get 6 months or 1 year's worth of lotto tickets with those numbers.
What's also great, I find, is that I don't deal with the PUBLIC. So far, after 2 days, not bad at all. I'm still adjusting to the 9-5 schedule. I also find it quite weird that I'm not working today. Or tomorrow.
Tomorrow is gonna be a bitch. April graduates from New Paltz tomorrow, and since the ceremony begins at 10 AM, we have to get up quite early. April has to be there at 9 AM, so even more early. Hopefully, if the weather is less shitty, I'll be able to take pics.
Speaking of, I've discovered that the Photo Lab associates in the Albany Wal-Mart need a little more training. Apparently, they don't know how to scan negatives at high resolution to be burned to CD. I was half-tempted to go in the lab and just say let me do it. Very simple process, the only change you make is before you scan the negatives, just set the print size to 8x12.
Thursday marked my sister's 16th birthday, and she made out damn good--she got an iPod from my dad; her learner's permit (plus $400 to be spent on her driving classes), a Vera Bradley bag? I think? And some more gift cards/money.
Today is my stepfather's birthday, I have to call him up later. This week, I'll mail out my gifts to the two of them.
Also, congratulations to Rach!! She brought her child into the world a few days ago--called me to share the good news, but I was halfway to sleep when she did, so I'll have to return the call.
And I think that's it for the news.
