I don't even look like a Chuck.
Monday, 29 May 2006 19:12So, life continues on, and me without my wedgie.
A week and a half now I've spent with the NY Lottery, and so far, so good. The work itself isn't difficult--I sit in front of a computer punching in data all day is what it boils down to. It's 9-5, and it goes pretty fast. Then again, I've got my headphones on, listening to whatever I happen to pop into WMP at the time. My body continues to adjust to the getting up at 7 routine again, still not fully there. I never have been a morning person, but it's what must be done.
Nothing made that fact more known than this weekend.
Because April's parents don't want to take our money as a "rent" payment, they--well, her dad, anyway--have decided that I'll pay rent in the form of manual labor. SHOOT ME.
For the next few weekends, starting with the last couple of days, the family has taken on a massive housing project--re-roofing the entire house. And garage.
Gee, I can't wait. SON OF A BITCH!!!!!
My body right now is telling me one thing--FUCKING OW.
FUCKITY FUCK FUCK FUCKITY BRIAN WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING, YOU MASOCHIST FREAK?!
April's proud of me--I'm surprised I was still able to have sex, for jeebus sake.
Now I know what a chicken feels like in the oven. I don't have the third nipple which pops out when I'm done, though. So, I was dragged out of a sound sleep (7 AM) on Saturday and Sunday to help peel the old shingles off the roof. 5 people were here (including April's brother Ryan and myself) helping. Still, I discovered a new best friend--Aleve. Muscles I didn't know I had were screaming for mercy. And it'll happen again every weekend until the project is done.
No work was done today, thank god. I got to sleep for 11 hours, getting up around 9ish. Today is Ryan's birthday, and to celebrate, we went and took him to see X-Men 3. DAMN. GOOD. MOVIE. I wanna see it again. For those of you that are going to see it--stick around after the credits for a brief scene. That's all I'll say. I've already read some LJers' reviews on it--purist, elitist bastards, the lot of them. So nitpicky.
We went to Johnny Rockets' for lunch, went to B&N where we bought some stuff--Ryan got some more manga, I got a P.D.Q. Bach CD, and April got the first season of House.
In final news:
ANNOUNCING: The 2006 LJ/FW Summer Contest, Colosso!
It's officially that time again, kiddies. Time to start thinking about Fantasy World's 5th Character Battle contest.
The theme of this contest will consist of all RPG characters from all RPGs (except Final Fantasy) from the consoles of decades ago to the current generation of systems (not PC).
As we all know, before official signups begin, we need to create the official tournament bracket. As I mentioned some time ago, I will employ the use of seeded brackets this time around.
But I need your help.
Thanks to the help of Joshie, he turned my Word document into a site for all to view.

And that's it from here. Nighty night, all.
