So, the end of another week, which means another Report from Hoople.
This week, my body healed (mostly) from the roofing fun I had to endure over last weekend. Where we had left off had left part of the house exposed to the elements--no shingles. What we were going to do this weekend had to be done yesterday out of sheer necessity--and thank god I wasn't here for it. The storms and rain we've had this week caused leaks in our bedroom, computer room, and hallway. The tarp got blown away. So April's dad and his friend had to quickly shingle it up before last night's round, which ended up knocking out power.
In other news, April and I are taking advantage of available overtime at the Lottery--by the time the pay week ends, we'll have racked up 6 and a half hours each of OT. If it continues into the following week, we'll take that as well. Even though now I'm in my 3rd week with this, I find it better than Wal-Mart immensely. Yes, I do miss working in the Photo Lab, but not having to deal with customers, management, and stupid policies that are designed to fire you, weekends off, and having a regular schedule far outweigh the pros.
I've been trying to gain pictures of lighting strikes. Since we've had plenty of storms, I've been trying to take a pic of lightning, something very hard to get given the fact that I need well, lighning reflexes to get said shots. So, being that I have 10 rolls of unexposed film, I've been setting up my camera on tripod and setting the shutter speed very slow--30 seconds at a time. Because I'm pointing it at the sky, and it's dark, not much can move to cause blur. We'll see the results when I go to Wal-Mart next to get said film developed.
Other than that, mot much else new--only a few have contributed possible suggestions to the upcoming summer contest. I plan to have the signups begin no later than June 15. If I don't get the signups I'm anticipating, then I will be forced to make random bracket pairings. Click the link for more: http://fantasyworldnet.com/colosso.htm
And I'm off.
