VGH: End of Quarterfinals Summary Post
So the Quarterfinals have ended, and we're 11 days left until this contest ends. Only 16 battles remain until we have a winner. And seeing as how the end of the contest is near, this will be the last of the "Summary Posts" until the end, where we'll have an FW Podcast as well as my end of contest blowout post.
The two battles last night went rather oddly for many of you--in the Storm/Cyclops battle, an upset was going to be had anyway, seeing as how most of you wanted Chris Redfield going against Storm. Cyclops won, and only 2 people predicted so. However, in the case of Spider-Man/Psylocke, most of you picked Spider-Man to win and he did. Some of you aren't taking advantage of the fact that you can vote twice. I say this because on the LJ poll, Cyclops won 7-0, while on FW, it was a 6-6 tie. Take advantage of it! You can vote in both my LJ and on FW! As a result, Joshie took home 200, giving him a 300 point lead as we head into the Semifinals.
Storm 6, CYCLOPS 13
SPIDER-MAN 13, Psylocke 6
So, our Semifinal field is now set--the winners of these battles will duke it out in the Division Finals. The field is thus:
Nibelheim Semifinals (in progress, GO VOTE):
(1) Cloud vs. (3) Cecil
(4) Aerith vs. (2) Sora
Time Semifinals (to be posted tonight at 7:30 PM ET):
(1) Link vs. (3) Sonic
(11) Yoshi vs. (2) Mario
Shadow Moses Semifinals (tomorrow):
(9) Dante vs. (21) Shadow
(6) Leon Kennedy vs. (2) Master Chief
Mutant Semifinals (Monday):
(1) Wolverine vs. (3) Superman
(6) Cyclops vs. (10) Spider-Man
Now, then. Onto the detailed leaderboard. Again, I will list your win-loss record, and any streaks you currently have. We've played 112 battles, and all points are out of 4800.

14th, 1275/4800: CrystalGuardian (42-70, 10 battle losing streak--VGH Record)
And my unofficial tally: 3900/4800. I'd be in 1st. HA.
1 new record was made in the Quarterfinals, and it's right above this--CG has a 10-battle losing streak, which is a record for THIS contest, breaking the old one of 9, also set by him.
Champions that have been eliminated:
Lucca, beaten by Frog, Nibelheim Round 2.
Big Boss, beaten by Shadow, Shadow Moses Round 2.
Locke Cole, beaten by Sora, Nibelheim Quarterfinals.
Batman, beaten by Superman, Mutant Quarterfinals.
Samus Aran, beaten by Link, Time Quarterfinals.
So, 17 of them are still left. Very good. We'll see how the field dwindles.
All righty, everyone--good luck in the final stretch--and KEEP VOTING!
