And so, woke up at 9, went to Comp 2. Afterwards, had lunch with Julio, and then Wyatt showed up. We chatted for a bit, and I walked with him down to the bus station to see him off. On the way, we passed the same-sex "marriage" ceremony taken place at the Village Hall. I have to admire Jason West's resolve. It takes balls to say "fuck you" to the state politicians. One mayor taking on the state. A crowd of a couple hundred were gathered, most in support of the marriages. 4 couples originally were to be wed...that number became 21. Also, news crews from all over flocked to the scene--some included ABC, NBC, CBS, and even CNN. New Paltz has gone national--a speck from NY, now famous. Personally, well done. Obviously, there was a small group of dissenters, and I saw one person holding a sign; "It's Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve." Ha ha. Cute. Original. Prick. Anyway, after that, I headed to McD to pick up my RA reference letter and my check, and was very happy...my check turned out more than I expected, which is always a plus. After that, back to campus, then on to work. Shift was bearable today, and I spent most of the time in the grill, but ended up briefly burning my knuckle on the top platen. Even for a half-second, those things will leave welts. Such is McD.
When I arrived back on campus, my feet (which had died a long time ago) screamed. They spoke to me, pleading not to be used anymore. Still...had a wonderful cleansing shower, and a wonderful chat with Bri. Now...I head to bed. Work from 11:30 to 7:30 tomorrow, then 2-10 on Sunday. Until next time...
Nighty night, all.
