Winds aloft and squiggly lines.
Wednesday, 1 December 2004 02:24You know, my roomie might be setting a record for number of classes missed due to constant sleeping. With that said, I must say that today seemed the best since last Saturday. After my Weather and Climate class, where I remember a lot of squiggly lines as my professor flashed transparency after transparency amidst my scattered sleep, a lot of gaming was done after class, since I didn't have work until 7 tonight. I probably played what I can call the most exciting Mario Kart race of my life. Never have I played a match on Rainbow Road (N64) when all 4 players involved were neck and neck the entire race. John, Xavi, Brandon and I were playing, and the entire race was decided in the last two seconds. The entire race, it was a fight for first between Xavi and I. About 15 seconds before race's end (and the finish was in view) I was hit by a red shell and got knocked back to fourth, Brandon and Xavi now fighting for 1st, John just ahead. In the last area to get items before the finish, about 5 or so seconds from the end, I pick up a lightning bolt, John fires a red shell and it hits Brandon, sending him up. As soon as it hit, I fired my lightning bolt, shrinking everyone just at the finish and slowing them down. Since I'm still fully intact, I drive past everyone, beating everyone by a hair. Needless to say, I think everyone in both of the Berkshire Towers heard the four of us screaming, me screaming in total shock and glee.
I began Lord of the Rings: Third Age and I love it so far. The battle system is very, very similar to FFX's, and I like the layout of it all thus far. Went to work, and tonight work wasn't bad...wasn't good, but very strange. Around 10 or so, a single person came in, and as I was cleaning up, sweeping the floor, he starts preaching to me about Jesus and eternal salvation. I hear what he has to say, and we chat for a while about religion, and he told me I was "locked into" Heaven, blah, blah. He kept talking to me, and then told me about a business of which I could earn money doing nothing, and since I was Jewish (and told him so) he looked quite pleased, telling me he wants Jewish people (enter the stereotype about Jews and money). I wanted to take my broom and ram it up his ass. I mean, even though I am not a practicing Jew and I don't observe any part of Judaism, I found the implied stereotype offensive. He ended up leaving, his chatting done, leaving his food on the table for me to clean up. He was followed by an asshole customer, and that would be that.
I got back here, and was set to attempt to fix John's comp, but got sidetracked by April, and we chatted for an hour. Then, work began, and failed. Apparently his computer doesn't want to budge, and so I'll need a full version of the Windows XP CD ROM. So, we played some more Mario Kart, and now I'm here, probably going to play more of Third Age.
Chance time? Hyers Chance Time?
Nighty night, all.
