Well, kiddies, I have returned from the Phantom Weekend in Boston, and, oh, did April and I have a blast, marred only by the return to South Station--a fire or something had broken out on the T's Red Line stop at South Station, causing us to walk from Downtown Crossing to South Station, ending up in me missing my planned bus. Not to worry--I caught the next one a couple hours later, and here I am.

Friday--I had arrived in Boston about 3 and a half hours before April did, just so I could go on a dry run through Boston's subway system, the T. This was the very first time I had been in a subway system, let alone first time on a train period. When April arrived, we'd have no time to waste, so I wanted to familiarize myself with the system first. Not too much trouble, and when April arrived, we wasted no time in getting onto the subway, and after some delay on the T's Blue Line to Wonderland station (Wonderland? In Revere? *snicker*), we arrived at the Comfort Inn, half an hour before 7 PM. Show began at 8. We got cleaned and dressed, and then took a cab to the Opera House...damn, did I get good seats. From the moment the show began, April was bouncing in her seat. And oh, it was amazing. So amazing. Sorry, AnimeBoston freaks--but for those of you who like Phantom, you missed some amazing theater. The Opera House itself was a work of art, and when the show began--I got a wonderful chill down my spine when I heard the opening measures of the Overture. The Phantom, played by Gary Mauer, in my opinion, did wonderful, wonderful acting. He was nearly perfect for the role--incredibly bipolar, excellent singing voice--definitely beats Michael Crawford, in my opinion. However, I still hold to my opinion that of the 3 Phantoms I've heard, Gerard Butler still has the better voice. There's just something about the Phantom that screams for a baritone voice--tenor is just simply too high. Even Gary Mauer, who had a deeper voice than Michael Crawford, who sang brilliantly--just didn't have the full body voice that a baritone (and subsequently, Gerard) that just seems to fit the Phantom. I swear, if Gerard was an accomplished, trained theater actor/singer, and he was just considerably more bipolar, he'd be the perfect Phantom. Also amusing was that Christine, played by Elizabeth Southard, is in real life, Mauer's wife. The Phantom really does get the girl! While she too, acted wonderfully, Emmy Rossum tops her. I also really enjoyed the use of pyrotechnics, and I really liked the sets. And...it left me crying at the end. A full standing ovation was the result of the performance, and seeing the musical...I enjoyed it better than the movie. And yes, I'm snatching the movie when it comes out on Tuesday.

Saturday--Wake up. Sex. Breakfast. Sleep. Wake up again. Some more sex. Some TV. Cooking shows. More sex. Even more sex. Some more TV. Sex. Dinner. Some more sex. Red Sox game. Celebratory sex. This was Saturday. I think we used all together this trip...12 of them?

Sunday--Wake up. Sex. Breakfast. Packing up, check out, and as we wait on the platform for the Red Line to take us to South Station...we find out that there is no service, and we end up walking to South Station, about 10 or 15 minutes of walking. April made her bus, I missed mine. So I waited until 2 PM for the next one. I got home around 3:30, 4...and don't know if Bob's still angry at me. I get filled with the happenings of the weekend--according to Jim, David and Matilda now know about Rob having the snake. Whether Bob knows or not, no idea. Played some Wario Ware, SSBM, and Soul Calibur II with Jim, Heather, and Mikey. Jim also bought a scorpion, which he's keeping somewhere. I do know the thing eats crickets...because the things are chirping down here. Jen, her boyfriend, and my cousin Sarah plus one of her boyfriends had dinner with us tonight. After things calmed a bit, talked to April on the phone, noticed that I'm nearly out of funds because the local bowling alley decided last Friday to take the funds that I paid nearly 3 weeks ago for bowling out...giving me a total of $3 and change...oi. So, I'll do some money transfer.

Now...relaxing before the work week begins. This week marks the beginning of my cut hours...I've got 1-9 shifts Monday-Wednesday, and Friday. I've got Thursday off.

And so, a great weekend to mark our first year together. I love you, April.

Nighty night, all.
