The horrible smell of wet The Cheat.
Friday, 15 July 2005 16:40After what seemed like an endless 5-day work week, I get one day off today, followed up by 3 days of work--a 10-7, a closing shift, then an opening shift. I hate scheduling like that. However, it's money. And with it, bills will be paid, and things shall be paid for from eBay. With whatever's left, we may do a slight spree on things we actually need--like, a dresser. We're still living out of laundry bags, baskets, and suitcases.
SSM seems to be moving along very well, and already there's some excitement in the leaderboard; already there's been an underdog character who has advanced. Just proves that big boobs don't always facilitate a win. Or you were all just lazy and didn't vote.
Last night, had a very engaging couple of Harry Potter chats with Ben and Carolyn...I was amused, the way Ben and I were dissecting the series to this point (as I now am about halfway through book 5), you could've confused us for a couple of English professors. I will say this--Professor Umbridge must DIE. Rowling's done a great job of making her a character that gets under everyone's skin. Don't spoil the end for me--I want to be just as surprised as all of you. And in a few days, I'll be starting book 6. While I may not be quite as obsessed as some of you are with Harry Potter, I'm definitely hooked. I haven't felt so personally involved in any plot since when I read the Lord of the Rings trilogy during my freshman year of high school--which proves to me that Rowling ranks up there with Tolkien in my book. Either that or everyone else sucks, which I doubt.
Also had a chat with Lex, for the first time in a while. Enjoyable.
So, today...so far, did some gaming, am doing laundry, paid a couple of bills, dropped my app off at Stewart's, and am awaiting Xenogears to arrive in the mail.
I think I'm gonna see the latest Wonka movie either Tuesday or Wednesday, my next days off. I'm probably gonna be scarred for life. But I have to. It's Wonka. I also am curious (although a little scared) to see how Tim Burton put his spin on it.
Also, I'm feeling an urge to perform once more. I rather miss being on stage and performing. After listening to Michael Crawford's rendition of "Gethsemane," from Jesus Christ Superstar...turns out I can hit the ridiculously high note that, according to Michael, makes your eyes bulge out and your trousers fall down. Carolyn has made known to me that her performing arts sorority, group, whatever it is, do recitals, and it's possible that I could be a guest performer. Well...I'm feeling rather excited already. She'll keep me informed.
Talked to Sarah briefly today--starts a new job today, and so I wish her luck. :)
All righty, time to chuck some clothes in the dryer.
