Wednesday, 9 November 2005 14:36Oh, it was fun. :)
Concert last night was quite good, performing for a nearly full house. I had seen someone from SHS there, who actually sang in the Concert Choir here at NP...Stewart LaDuca. He had started to talk to me, and at first I didn't recognize him. Last I had seen him in high school, he was shorter than I was and had a much higher voice. Now...he's nearly a whole head taller than I am, and his voice had deepened dramatically. The Concert Choir had performed a piece that I remember doing in SHS: Cantique de Jean Racine, by Gabriel Faure. As for we, the College-Community Chorale, we sang 6 pieces:
Ching-a-ring-chaw, by Aaron Copland
Long Time Ago, also by Copland
The Circus Band, by Charles Ives
Crossing the Bar, also by Ives
Mood Indigo, by Duke Ellington
I'm Beginning to See the Light, also by Ellington.
I eagerly await next semester, when we do a new version of Mozart's Requiem.
Today, since there is no rehearsal, I called up Staples to see if I can work, and so I will be shortly. This week is already going to have a sucky paycheck--originally 15 hours due to the number of days I'm taking off--hopefully I can get another 6.
All righty, see ya later.
