Strip-ed pants.
Monday, 9 January 2006 23:58Maybe the Homestar Runner fandom got a bit cheapened today, when the Brothers Chaps updated the site for the first time in 35 days...with just a Strong Bad Email, and not a great one at that. They do have a sense of humor--in the series of buttons that scroll on the main page, the first one is: "New Strong Bad Email," followed by, "Nothing else!"
Ah, well. Today was a day made up of entirely loafing. I accomplished what I set out to do--do nothing. It was FF6 and onlining all day, with the occasional food, bathroom breaks, etc. I also made my 23rd mix compilation CD. Thanks to the Wal-Quil for making me sleep for almost 12 hours. But I feel better--the sore throat and cough have been immensely lessened by the rest, but the tea and cough drops continue. Hopefully, a good sleep tonight will lead to a rested-up, better me for the 9-6 shift tomorrow. I'm off Wednesday, and that day will be a semi-cleaning day, probably will be the day I take down the Christmas tree...for it's begun to shed. I haven't wanted to take it down because it adds a nice piney smell to the place...but the needles are everywhere now.
April is still in Long Island for her grandfather's funeral, to take place tomorrow. From what she tells me, she'll be back Friday. She gets paid then, and will actually have gas money to come back on Friday.
Tonight, Phantom of the Opera became the longest running show on Broadway. How I would have loved to have been at that performance tonight, followed by the masked ball in the Waldorf (Salad) Astoria hotel. Damn, Cameron Mackintosh, you've got it made--in posession of the top 3 longest running Broadway shows: Phantom, Cats, Les Miserables. Bravo.
On the contest front, we now are down to 5 days left until deadline. Nick, sorry that you had to withdraw, but I'm even more sorry about your house troubles. Hopefully it gets fixed quickly. However, 12 of you still owe me brackets! You are:

HELL, SPUTIN WAS ONE OF THE FIRST ONES TO SUBMIT ONE!!!
You know, you'd think I know by now that no matter how much I and Joshie nag, I'm still gonna get the remaining brackets on the 14th. But it's out of blind optimism and wishful thinking (yes, Brie, I know I'm a silly boy) and the hope that I won't have a ton of brackets to check the day before contest begins. Which is why I give you A MONTH to begin with.
Ah, well. Such a deal. In other news, Happy 23rd b-day to my stepbrother, Rob.
Ok, bedtime. Nighty night, all.
