You're all sorts of crappy, aren't you?
Thursday, 9 February 2006 11:09Yes! A real post! How about that?
In the news, work is worklike. Although, for some reason, my department manager doesn't know how to make a unified schedule, it seems. Apparently, the store is trying to cut hours storewide for everyone--a shift here, a shift there. When my managers put in their finalized schedule, upper management goes in and checks everyone's schedule, then goes in and trims and doesn't tell anyone. Which then leads to a unwelcome surprise when Laurie has you scheduled to work, but the official schedule has you as a day off.
Also, we seem to have issues with asking for days off. For some reason, I end up scheduled to work after putting the notice in...7 weeks in advance. Wal-Mart wants 3, minimum. It's always been like this in retail--where I have to fight and argue for every day I ask for off. Most of the time, the issue gets resolved. I tell them I want these days off because...well, I kinda WON'T BE HERE.
But that's another rant.
Yesterday, we were in NP, as per the usual Wednesday custom. Much fun was had, and we played much Molf (Mario Golf, for you uneducated folk). We also played Scrabble, and Mary treated us all to Dunkin' Donuts. Added to the mix was a Kyle and a David Spa'attendant. I had decided to not go to chorus in favor of hanging out with my friends and Molf. So more fun was had, and then all 7 of us (April, Mary, Brie, Ben, Kyle, Dave, and myself) went to the diner, where fun ensued. We got back, and Wyatt had pointed out a sight in the night sky--a moon surrounded by a cloud halo, a perfect circle. Mary and I attempted to get a pic of it, and even laying down in the Tripping Fields didn't do anything...alas, a digital camera wasn't going to do anything.
So now we plan to rope everyone up here to Kingston for a Wednesday.
Ahh...pay day today. Which means my paycheck goes right out the door again. Most of it to the apartment, some to Sarah, some to the stuff I have on Layaway, and more time on my phone.
And now food awaits. Remember to vote in today's battles.
