Colosso begins! Day 1: Onett Division, Round 1, Battles 1 and 2.
Wednesday, 12 July 2006 19:05So, here we are, everyone. From here, we begin the 2-month contest known as Colosso, this summer's character battle contest. The theme: RPG characters from RPG games from the NES to the current generation of systems. From here, you vote on which characters you want to win. The winners advance to the next round, and we go round by round until the 128-character field goes down to 2, then a winner. To the 15 people who have entered the contest, good luck. Whoever has the most points at the end of the contest will win the 1st place prize: a choice of your choosing, of which you pick one--a video game of your choosing, a $50 gift card to one of a selection of shops, or $50 if you need money more than games. Hopefully your predictions hold true.
For the first round, each correct prediction will get you 25 points. If you're wrong, zero. Battles will begin and end between 7 and 8 PM each night, unless I indicate otherwise. This start/stop time may change during the contest. Again, everyone will be notified.
Everyone, let's have some fun. With that, I declare this contest begun.
Battle 1 of the Onett Division consists of Crono, from the 1995 SNES classic, Chrono Trigger, made by Square. He will be against Tombi, from the game Tombi (or Tomba, depending on where you live), released on the PS1 in 1998.
vs.
Battle 2 consists of Koops, from the GameCube RPG, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, released in 2004. He will be going against Ivan, from the Game Boy Advance game, Golden Sun, released in 2001.
VS.
Tomorrow's battles: Pikachu (Pokemon) vs. Toan (Dark Cloud); Lynx (Chrono Cross) vs. Marth (Fire Emblem).
