So the weekend we spent with my relatives in Orange County proved to be fun. April enjoys my blood family, and they to her. Which makes me glad. I had a good time as well, seeing my relatives again for the first time in nearly 4 years. I just wish I had a better time--I got hit by another of these freak, 1-day fevers that have plagued me all summer. Which is why I made an "emergency" appointment to the doctor's for tomorrow.

Shortly after I moved to Albany, I began having these frequent stomach pains--instances that occurred between 3-5 times a day, each instance lasting between 30 seconds and 1 minute. Also shortly after these new pains began, I began getting these out-of-the-blue fevers, these things that lasted for, literally, 1 day. It'd come on quick, and leave just as fast. I'd feel all hot and shitty all day, go to bed, wake up fine the next day. I've now had 3 of these fevers over the last 2 months.

As far back as I can remember, I only get 1 fever a year, usually in winter. To get 3 in 2 months, all of them these 24-hour jobbies is really starting to worry me. I have a feeling it's related to these stomach pains. I had brought up the stomach pains to my doctor 2 weeks ago, when my health insurance finally began. I had my physical 2 weeks ago, and all the results came back good. I'd get a call if something was off. It's been 2 weeks, I've had no call. I'm assuming all is well. Anyway, the doc had told me that without any more evidence, she couldn't provide a diagnosis. She asked me to keep a written record of every time these pains occur: what time of day, how long did it last, what I last ate, and what I was doing at the time.

In doing so, I've noticed these: these pains strike without warning, whenever the hell they want. There is no time pattern at all. The first one could be at 7:30 AM, sometimes it could be 1 PM. Sometimes the time span in between said instances can be 8 hours apart, sometimes just 45 minutes apart. Some days I'll have 2 or 3 pains a day, other times, 5 or 6. There is no pattern anywhere. Rarely, the pains are accompanied by me having to take a shit, at which point I'll feel better. The doc did say to come back if they began to get worse.

Well, they are. In the last few days, I've noticed an increase in the frequency of said instances, a small increase in the intensity of said pains, and also, they've taken to doing something new: occuring in my sleep, waking me out a sound snooze. Also, they now make their presence in quick, short pain bursts at times if I stand up, or walk, in addition to the longer instances.

My total unprofessional wild guess? An ulcer or other abdominal infection. Makes sense. But again, totally unprofessional and really, only a wild guess.

This has been going on for 2 months. I've had enough. I go to the doctor tomorrow afternoon, leaving work early to do so. Hopefully, it's something that isn't too serious. (crosses fingers) I may have to be sent to a hospital for tests to see what's up. April's starting to get quite worried. I'm just confused as all hell as to what this is, why it began shortly after I moved here, and what caused it.

Meanwhile, back to contest updating...
