I find it amusing, in a sarcastic, slightly cynical sort of way: in my last real post, I mentioned that I have this chronic disease, and got flooded with comments...all telling me the joys of using Mozilla Firefox. Then again, in your defense, I did ask for comments and feedback regarding Mozilla. Don't worry, I'm not offended. :) Just amused.

Ah, it's been an interesting last few days. Not so restful as annoying...I felt as if the weekend was wasted. We've been here 3 weeks, we haven't spent a weekend alone in the apartment yet where we had NO PLANS at all. First weekend, we went to the RenFaire. Weekend after, moving furniture in/my colonscopy prep/shitting all day. Last weekend, spent at April's parents'--they were away, we had to take care of the dog.

Needless to say, that dog is probably the highest-maintenance animal of any animal I've had to take ANY responsibility for. Not only is he immensely spoiled, but he also is the fun police. Let me give you an example:

He goes out when HE wants, not when you want him to. He comes back in when HE wants. If you don't, he won't stop barking until you let him in. He can't be left alone, or he will go into barking fits. He will also not allow you to have sex. Anywhere. If you're in the same room as he, he will go into hysterics and start barking, jumps up on the bed. If you go into a room, close the door and leave him out, he will start barking and scratching at the door. He will wake you up in the morning--April had a dentist appointment early Monday morning. She left the house around 6:30, 6:45. He kept barking for half an hour, then gave way to loud whining, forcing me to remain awake and gain no more sleep.

What a waste. A KING-SIZE bed and couldn't do a damn thing with the dog with us every moment. We did have sex in the pool, which was quite nice. And we decided to have some fun in our former bedroom, totally ignoring the dog's damned barking. I love the mutt, but I'd never want him as a pet. I'd shoot him.

We did go to Crossgates Mall over the weekend--Hot Topic had a sale, so I walked out with 2 new video game t-shirts, we ate at Friendly's, had some yummy pheasant for dinner, and all was good.

I've been bitten by the writing bug again, for the first time in nearly a year. I want to get back into my Dino Crisis 1 novelization. I have to backtrack a bit, though--all of my Dino Crisis stuff (story, notes, script, ASCII maps of the floors in the game) got lost when I gave my old laptop (yes, that clunky Thinkpad). I was working on Chapter 2, that got lost. Luckily, I post chapters of my work on nFiction (and rarely, FF.net) as soon as they are done, so I got my Prologue and Chapter 1 back.

So, being bitten by this writing bug, I have invested in purchase of the official Dino Crisis strategy guide. I need something that can give me the maps of all the rooms in the game--a hard copy reference. I have the game, but I need a hard reference rather than relying on just plain text of GameFAQs alone. GameFAQs too is helpful--got the game script from there as well. So, I am bitten by the bug again. Good feeling. Hopefully this continues on through the next few months. I already know what I'm going to do for this November's NaNoWriMo.

I'm gonna beat S.D. Perry to the punch and write a Resident Evil 4 novelization. Nearly 2 years later, I'm still getting reviews for my Dino Crisis 2 novelization, all good. That will be an interesting one to write.

But for now, that's all the news. For now, time to shower.
