So, taking a look at my LJ Friends' page, I see all these somber and contemplative posts regarding the events of 5 years ago. While the day is indeed a day to remember and reflect, it is also a time of moving on. So while everyone is doing whatever they're doing for this day, this post will be a happy post--why?

Because 3 years ago today was the creation of my LiveJournal! (blows horns, confetti, pops a champagne bottle, usual party stuff)

Yes, A Bit of Wit...is 3 years old today. First created while I was going to college in New Paltz, I was just beginning to get to know Wyatt, Catie (who would eventually get us ALL roped into the LJ bandwagon), Nick, Tryn, Kate, Lex, and all of my friends at the college, both online and in real life.

And to think--3 years ago, I was wondering how the heck I was gonna stay in college, having money troubles. I didn't think that I was going to leave college...heck, didn't know that my family was planning to move to the Cape, certainly didn't anticipate falling in love (and all the subsequent drama that would follow between feelings and that nuthouse I used to call...a nuthouse, really), didn't anticipate a lot of things. What I was expecting was to still be in New Paltz, graduating this year with everyone else. Instead, well, you already know--went to MCLA, that flopped, went home, moved to Kingston, moved to Schenectady, and inherited a chronic disease in the process. You'd think I feel bitter, and in some ways, I do. But for right now, I'm content

I have had two bits of stability during these 3 years--my friends, every single one of them who has been there for me, whether physically, online, or anyone who was willing to listen to me rant, rave, cry about how much life sucked. And then, of course, April, who has stuck with me through everything, thick and thin, positive and negative. I won't ever find another like her, and I don't anticipate looking. She and I will be together forever.

So, a look back at the previous posts made on this day:

9/11/05--SSM, Kingston, 20 facts about me.
9/11/04--at MCLA.
9/11/03--It all begins.

And now, to enjoy some cake. Happy Birthday, A Bit of Wit!
