Sorry, Sputin. Had to yoink it. Too good to pass up.

Wow, what the hell's wrong with me? It's been 2 weeks since I did a real LJ post...much has happened, but life's been busy.

Began a couple weeks ago when the Dans (Dan H and Danyelle) came down and spent some time here. It was fun--April's family came here for dessert (as it was April's dad's birthday), much talk of a farm and self-sufficiency were had, and we succeeded in giving Danyelle some culture shock. Danyelle lives at the edge of the prairie--or should I say, the Adirondacks. Coming down here to Schenectady, a suburb of Albany, and she was utterly fascinated when we went to Mohawk Commons, a hoppin' shopping plaza that contains several restaurants, a Target, Price Chopper, an EB, Barnes & Noble, Lowe's, and so on. We went into the B&N, where Danyelle made a home for herself in the corner of the art section while Dan and April were looking at farming and do-it-yourself books, I was looking at baseball card price guides. After, we proceeded to go into Price Chopper, where she'd never been in a supermarket that size--SO MUCH FOOD. She may have had a revelation, I don't know. Still, fun was had.

Work was work, and last weekend saw the arrival of my Wii! All my other games have been put on hold, for at the moment, Wii Sports is my crack. Other Wii games that are on my list to get: Zelda, WarioWare, and Mario Party 8. I also bought a classic controller, some Wii points, and downloaded the Sega Genesis game, Columns, for April. It's one of the rare times you will see her playing a video game. The original Zelda and Mario Kart 64 may be my next downloads. But yes, Wii is love. Anyone who wants my Wii number can check my LJ user profile.

I've been downloading a lot of stuff lately--some hentai (for it's just as hysterical as it is titillating), 9 albums by a pagan band from the UK known as Inkubus Sukkubus, and currently, some DMB. I'm gonna need more blank CDs.

Soon I shall also be getting a headset so I can use a mic on IM--primarily to take part in Fantasy World's podcasts. That'll be fun.

This past "wiik" was rather hectic as well--overtime has come around again, and I've willingly decided to take another 10 hours of OT--an extra $140 on the paycheck doesn't hurt. In addition to the overtime, April and I had been studying for civil service exams--it is the way that one gets promoted in the State. Every so often, tests come around for a particular position among the agencies, often with the prospect of better pay. Take the test, and if you score well (90 or higher, usually), then your score will be placed on an eligible list for all agencies to see. If the position that you tested for opens up, you will receive an offer to be interviewed, and possibly hired, depending on how many people interviewed. The test was yesterday, and we hope we did well.

After, we went to April's parents, played against Ryan on the Wii, went to his concert, then came home. We'll be going there later today on the guise of a Super Bowl party...even though I don't like football.

In other news, we're on the hunt for a new used car out of necessity...how much longer April's is gonna last is uncertain. Soon I shall be getting my learner permit renewed, and then I can take some lessons. Also, for you people who like the Blue Collar Comedy Tour: Bill Engvall is coming to Proctor's Theatre, right here in Schenectady, on April 28. Tickets go on sale February 8th. Definitely going.

Oh, and we'll be getting cable soon. I miss watching baseball and April misses her Discovery and History channels.

But now, I'm out.
