It's like a black lace bonanza! I'm so happy!
Thursday, 30 August 2007 14:44Thanks, Shanti, for letting me steal that particular quote.
So, we're in the second half of my 10-day vacation. I swear, it's flying by. Already, we've been to Tanglewood last Saturday for some great music provided by John Williams and the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra; Sunday saw a Dan H. here on his way back up to Clarkson, in which I got to see all his Utah pics (damn gorgeous--I'm jealous). He stayed the night and left Monday, and then April and I decided to go to New Paltz on a whim. Spent all day there, had fun with most everyone. Wyatt took April and I to Tokyo Sushi, which was delicious. We got back to campus, April and I hung out with Jess, I chatted with Brie, and in the evening, 8 of us (April, myself, James, Mary, Wyatt, Shanti, Jess, and Ian) went to P&G's. Jess, as she said, was a P&G's virgin, but as usual, food was yummy. Mary got her burger still beating.
Tuesday, April and I took the day and spent it in Bennington, VT. If you haven't read April's LJ, we went into an antique store called "Junque," and inside, April found a 1925 Remington Standard manual typewriter. Attached, the figure of a monkey in Persian robes, playing the cymbals. This typewriter was found in the vaults of the theatre--still in working order, ladies and gentleman.
Now she's clacking away. I went into a store and found a collector's edition Monopoly game--it's a replica of the FIRST edition of the game. It's not a 1935 actual first edition, but having the modern replica made me happy regardless. We ate at an excellent pub/brewery, had excellent bangers and mash, and came home.
Yesterday was a loaf day, I spent it almost entirely on FF12.
Today, packing up and going to Suffern. I'll meet up with Carolyn there, and on Friday, it'll be her, Dan D, April, myself and Ryan to the Jersey shore at Point Pleasant, and then (hopefully) 3 days of RenFaire for us. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
As for the contest, as of last night, it was placed on a break. When it resumes on Tuesday night, we'll pick up with the Sega Division, Round 2.
Enjoy the long weekend!
