Phanty Erik?
Friday, 5 October 2007 07:57Week done...well, almost.
Last weekend consisted of a Mary and James crashing here for the weekend. Weekend activities included apple picking (which meant April made PIE), gaming, buying and playing Cranium as well as Apples to Apples, and Molf. Plenty of Molf. Great fun weekend, as always. Sunday night was interesting, as I had to jump start James' car (Knight Rider). But everyone's alive and well, so all is good.
Finally, some relief for me at work--for the last few months, I'd been the only data entry peon on my side of the office. We're now in a position of peak renewal, where we're getting a flood of mail from people who'd like to play lotto by mail. With me as the only keypuncher, it's taking longer to process these (pile an entire state's workload on me, customers are naturally going to complain that their lotto "prescriptions"--yes, many do say that--are taking too long). It's only gambling. Non-essential function of society. However, there was a recent bit of humor at work that'll make geography majors cringe.
A co-worker and I had a discussion about great seafood, and he had mentioned that some of the best seafood he ever had was when he had fish and chips while visiting England. While we were, one of our female staff asked me in all seriousness, "Is England on the ocean?"
I had to do a double take, because you know, England is A FRIGGIN' ISLAND. Definitely facepalm time.
BASEBALL POSTSEASON IS ALL YAY. I've been listening to day games at work and watching them at night. This weekend's gonna see limited baseball viewing from me--baseball's not big in my house, especially with my father, who doesn't like sports period. Hey, that's ok. Because there's more than 1 TV there. HEHEHE. Let's go Red Sox!
In other news, going to Cape Cod this weekend! Actually taking a half-day today, and heading over, to get there probably between 5 and 6. Also going to King Richard's Faire this weekend! If anyone wishes to get a hold of me, call my cell--845-853-5247. Not leaving for home until Monday (I love paid holidays off).
Now comes the whoring myself part of the post. I've recently added some photos to my photo store at Mad Squirrel Photos. Soon, gonna add some new stuff to my CafePress store. So, please, listen to the cute squirrel and go to said places and buy stuff! Get some early holiday (or not-so-holiday) shopping out of the way!

Now I need to not be naked and put some clothes on...can't go to work nude. Hope to see some of you guys on the Cape this weekend!
