Yes, a real post! Huzzah! But if you're looking for the contest battles, they're in the previous post, so get them while they're hot.
Although I must say, aside from seeing the awesomeness that was the musical SPAMALOT last Wednesday, not much has happened. Because many of us took the holidays off work, the backlog of work to be done piled up--even though we enjoyed the holidays, people WERE still gambling, after all, whittling their welfare dollars away on scratch-off tickets. This pile up let to a 2-week block of voluntary overtime, which April and I decided to get a piece of and recover some funds blown from Christmas. So it's been 10 hours a day since last week, on top of my weekend portrait studio stuff. On Wednesday, the block of overtime ends and I can go back to normal hours.
However, a couple weeks ago, I may or may not have mentioned--remember last November, where I mentioned that I took photos for my boss, pictures of the annual 15K race last November? Well, the story continues. Last time we left off, my boss was so taken with the pictures that he gave me $30, in addition to reimbursing me for film and developing. However, he also writes occasional articles for the New England Runner, a regional magazine dedicated to...well...running. The magazine ran an article about the race, and he submitted two of my images.
And they both got published! WOO! With photographer credit this time! I need to find a copy of the magazine and have it for my own keepsakes. Notch another one to the photo resume. Speaking of pictures, last weekend, I had a fun and interesting photo shoot. April wanted to be photographed nude, and so I did. When a woman asks to be photographed, particularly nude, you don't ask questions. You just do. Some of them came out bloody awesome, and she allowed me to post the best ones on my DeviantArt. So, the best one is up on my DeviantArt, along with another of the same, but photoshopped a bit to create a nice effect. The caveat is this, though: you only can see it on my DeviantArt if you're a member of it--because the image contains nudity (even though this definitely falls under the category of artistic nude), I have to flag it as mature content, meaning only members can see. Check out
my DeviantArt here. And if you're a member of DA and click there, don't check it out if you don't like seeing nudity, or seeing April nude for that matter--just remember: she ALLOWED me to post those pics.
This weekend looks to be more portrait studio stuff, but the Christmas tree is finally coming down this Saturday, before my entire apartment floor becomes a bed of dead pine needles. Other than that, some gaming, contest stuff, and general meh.
But now, breakfast, then work.
