Thursday, 24 April 2008 22:38Still alive, all is well here in Suffern. Enjoying my time here, and it's not over yet. Yesterday, on the way down here, I did stop at the Ramapo rest stop and got lucky--Bill, one of my former managers, was on, and we chatted for about half an hour, catching up. All is good there. Shortly after arriving at Dan's house, I met up with Carolyn at the Palisades Mall, and we went to dinner. I got to eat at the Cheesecake Factory for the first time, and while it's pricey, I did enjoy it. I may have to give it a second try back home. Nothing else happened after dinner, we both went back to our respective places. I loafed for the rest of the night.
Today, a bit more eventful--after waking, loafing, and doing morning stuff, Dan and I went to Harriman State Park, and it was great. It was the first time I had stepped foot in that park since 2003, and our short hike was awesome. Familiar territory, but Dan and I had our cameras out and took some pictures. Some of those will probably head to DeviantArt once I get back home. We weren't out too long, a couple hours at most, before I decided to get back to get ready to meet Carolyn at the mall for dinner again. Cleaned up a bit, then got to the mall, where I met a tired Carolyn. No dinner was had...she was feeling a bit under the weather, so my drive to the mall was for naught, and we went immediately back home. It put a slight crimp in my day, but if you're sick, you're sick, and so I'm not going to fault her for it. She apologized enough. So, upon that, I went back to my old stomping grounds, Lake Street...and it still looks virtually the same as when I left it 5 years ago. But Alex and Jose were at Jose's place, and it was going to be 4 hours of gaming, hilarity, and catching up. Needless to say, I had a fucking blast...just like old times.
And so here I am, winding down for the night, thinking about what to do tomorrow. As Carolyn and Dan D. seem to be planning for a trip to Cape May, I probably won't see them tomorrow. Dan H. will be working all day, which leaves me free to do whatever. For the moment, I have absolutely no plans for tomorrow, other than hitting up Lake Street again to see if any of my old friends will be around. If any of you are doing nothing tomorrow, call my cell: 845-853-5247. I know I had wanted to see Sara C. at some point, I think she's working until evening. Hopefully I'll catch her online or call her. But as I said, I've nothing planned. Saturday, however, is quite planned--a full day with Annie. But I'll leave that to Saturday.
In the meantime, I hope April is conquering those words, but also hoping her and Kris found some time to chat some more with each other. :) Love you both!
Nighty night, all, live from Suffern.
