So immediately after we get all this stuff in the new apartment, we then proceeded to head downstate for the opening weekend of the RenFaire. It was April, myself, and Luc (who was a RenFaire virgin...not anymore), and we crashed at my grandma's house for the weekend. So opening day was greeted by a torrential downpour. Almost immediately after we got there, we saw the opening procession, and then buckets poured. We took refuge in the Madd Hatter, until the water was about to crest over the shop entrance. It let up enough for us to traipse over to where Carolyn was working--she set up an area to do tarot card readings next to Brother Bill, along Mystic's Way. The three of us hung out with her and Bill until the rain let up, and then we had food, and Carolyn went back to her spot, and we proceeded to explore the Faire. Despite the absence of Three Pints Shy, and several actors that April and I had grown accustomed to, we actually did not manage to make it to ANY of the shows, save for the final joust and the Pub Sing immediately after. We spent all day going to nearly every shop--Luc wanted to check out everything before deciding what to blow his money on--and believe me, he wanted to blow everything he owned on the first store we hit--a store carrying sharp pointy things. We also determined that with my costume, my character has had another change that this time, will be permanent. We came to the conclusion that I looked like a cavalier, and so I bought the Cavalier hat that I'd been lusting after for a year. It is now the hat of Awesome (or "Ausom," as April called it). That hat looks so much better than my floppy hat (which I still wear, but now I have a Hat of Awesome).

Day 2 saw us actually hit up some of the favorite shows, like Crossbones McCoy, the Crimson Pirates, Philip Hole (TA-DA!), Dextre Tripp, along with a few others. Luc bought some stuff (a vest of awesome), and it was another great day. Now, while our next planned trip was going to be Labor Day weekend, we decided to make an impromptu day trip this Saturday so we could see Mary and James, and also because Erica has a free Saturday and wishes to go--and the free passes we scored for buying season passes are only good for the first 4 weekends of the Faire. The more people we can save $20 on, the better. So yes, this Saturday, we'll be down again. Suffice it to say, the rest of my weekends until September 6 are filled. This Saturday, I'll be at Faire (with Sunday being a day of loafing and some unpacking), the following weekend I'll be on the Cape, taking pics at Michelle's wedding, then after that, on vacation in the Berkshires, then comes Labor Day Weekend (and 3 days of Faire!), and then a free weekend, followed by a weekend in Boston, and then closing weekend of Faire. So yes, my weekends are filled for the rest of the summer. Somewhere in there, I am planning to begin signups for Character Battle 9: Silent Hill.

And so, back to work for me, and life goes on. I'm going to be getting home phone soon, give my poor cell a rest. Life is good at the moment.

But now, to loaf.
