A whelk doesn't stand a chance in a supernova.

Well, it doesn't. We all know this. Neither does this planet if the Sun goes supernova--then we're all fucked. Speaking of, it's been a couple days since I was last fucked. Ah, well, no matter. So winter seems to be settling in nicely here, coming early to the party. I like it, although it unfortunately means I get to hear complains about how cold it is from people at work--and so, my reply is the same. We live in the NORTHEAST. We live in New York. If you don't like the damn cold, then move. Go down to Florida. Everyone else does. Go reside on America's Penis (TM), you'll be pissed away into the afterlife soon enough. Florida should not be called the Sunshine State--it's should be called God's Waiting Room. I'm sure death is big business there. Hell, Philip Hole (TA-DA!!!!) would make a killing! A KILLING! (insert Statler and Waldorf-like laugh here)

So what have I done in the last couple of weeks? Well, for Columbus Day weekend, as I mentioned previously, I was on Cape Cod seeing my family and going to King Richard's Faire, and it was lovely. All those breasts in tight bodices--perfection itself. And the women in them--even more so. Including my lovely. Ryan got some garb, and it was just a great day to spend there with my stepdad in addition to April and bro. A good end to this year's Faire season for us, all told. Last weekend saw us down in New Paltz visiting Mary and failing to get a hold on Brie (four or five failed phone attempts and repeated IMs doing nothing...I want my copy of Chrono Trigger back!). And then last Sunday, April and I went apple picking and brought back 27 pounds (no joke) of apples. And of course, pie was made and had (quite deliciously) at her parents', who invited us for dinner.

This week is flying by, and now with the World Series of Horrible Umpiring Calls ended, I turn to November, which not only includes my 23rd birthday as well as Thanksgiving, but also NaNoWriMo. Yes, it's that time again, which means mass writing and seclusion. However, my plan of attack this year is a bit different. Failing to completely accomplish my goal last year (accomplished in the sense that I got to 50000 words, but failing to actually finish the Resident Evil 4 novelization I was working on), I will continue on with this RE4 novelization, starting to write what will now be Book the Third. I did not expect there to be so much game left when I resumed it last year. However, the goal for this November is to finish the story. In 2006 and 2007, I did get to 50000 words each for the two parts of the story. I don't think that this novel has 50,000 words left in it, not from where I am in the story in relation to the game. If it does, then great--but this year, 50,000 words is not the priority. I will continue on as if I was shooting for the goal (1667 words per day minimum), and continue to write it as I have done, but the goal this year is to finish it, and if I manage 50,000 more words to close this thing out, then great. If not, I don't care--I want to move on to another project...and a shorter game to novelize, if I do another game novelization. I did start Eternal Darkness a while ago...and that was before I started reading H.P. Lovecraft...

My original plan for this NaNo (which was entirely dependent on if I finished RE4 last year) was to do a novelization for Metal Gear Solid. Apparently, Konami read my mind, and last spring, I saw the novelization of the game at B&N, written by an author who writes for the Splinter Cell series of books. Those who enjoyed MGS, I do recommend this book...it was a very decent novelization. Not perfect, but definitely worth my time.

For those of you who have been reading my RE4 story, thanks much...I still get comments and feedback on ff.net. Many people have this story favorite'd, and it's been a year since I last touched this story. For those of you who haven't read it, then by all means, click here and begin.

And that's where I am now. Happy in my own world, and desperately waiting for this election to END. END MORE, YOU'RE NOT ENDING ENOUGH! I can't wait. We'll have Election Day, and then 2 weeks of election recount coverage! I don't know whether to leap for joy or have a leaf shoved up my ass. WOO! But I'll be writing, so the leaves are spared this time. Can't say the same for Erica's cat, Ghost, who I accompanied (along with April and Erica) to an emergency vet clinic a couple of days ago. Something not right was sticking out of the cat's ass, only to discover that it was a leaf. Needless to say, the cat was totally embarrassed (for it had put up quite a hissy fit in the car), and probably renounced its own gender. The end. Now isn't that a story worth the telling?

And now, your moment of Zen:

"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing".
"But," says man, "The Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED."
"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.
"Oh, that was easy," says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed on the next zebra crossing.
