Radishes are meat.
Saturday, 6 November 2010 11:14So, after 6 weeks of being mostly bedridden, I finally made some real progress toward my recovery from surgery. Looks like the new Crohn's medication I'm on is starting to show some effect, and only after one infusion. According to April, the surgical wound is actually starting to close.
I spent a good chunk of the week being up and about, and I've haven't been this mobile in a long while.
We've reached the point now where April is able to go back to work full-time, and I think in another couple of weeks, I too will be able to get back to the daily grind. One of the major hurdles that I still have to clear is the whole sitting-in-a-desk-chair thing for a long period of time, although that is also improving. I spent most of my day yesterday sitting on the couch playing Dead Space and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
So, I'm mostly independent again, much to my great relief. I may be comfortable this weekend with driving, but we'll see.
In the upcoming week, I have to go to Sage and see the Dean so I can work out a medical withdrawal for this semester; I also have to go to my gastro for the next infusion of the new medicine--it means being in a nice comfy chair for 2 hours while the drug is administered via IV--something I'll have to do every 8 weeks once the induction doses are over.
Also, this week, expect to see something I haven't done since summer--add new pics to the deviantART.
Things are finally looking up. It's not over yet, but now I can see the finish line.
