I'm certainly leaning heavy on the end of the week.
So much moving...although now, all the bookcases are in the house. We've got a lot of stuff out, but there's still more to go. Oy. Because we've spent the month making nearly daily trips to the house, I haven't had time to soak in Christmas. I don't feel like it's getting near Christmas, and the early fall-like weather is certainly not helping. I've only done a little of my shopping, but it is what it is. Amazon, you're my hero.
In other news, got to hang out with
nigoki for the first time in nearly 7 years. He was my RA at MCLA, and he was in Albany last night, so we caught an Albany Devils game. First time I've been to a hockey game of any level, and I enjoyed myself, even if the Albany Devils lost the game when their opponent scored the winning goal with 0.4 seconds left in overtime. Cheap tickets, too. Only $16 for pretty decent seats. Depressing when your concession stand food (in this case, a burger, fries, and a drink) cost more than the ticket itself, but they need to get you somehow.
Tomorrow evening, I'm heading down to New Paltz for our 2nd 4th Edition D&D game. Looking forward to it immensely. I'm enjoying not only myself, but the company and gameplay of the others. Then it's back here Saturday for a party hosted by Danielle, then more moving and Christmas shopping on Sunday.
Ryan has now taken the first step toward moving into our apartment--he's filled out the initial application! Hopefully he can be in here when January rolls around, and April and I can finally begin settling in to the new house, which will then need to be ready for two amazing weekends of Januarymas, and also the likely housing of
speccygeekgrrl for her winter break.
Then, back to school. Taking 1 course next semester, Studio Lighting (take 2).
But today just felt weird. I felt as if I was in a sort of drowsy daze all day. I blame it on the fact that it doesn't feel like fucking December with all this rain and 50-degree temps. However, one of my co-workers (who's now a grandma) brought in the new baby, and every woman in the office melted. Puddles of mush. Rivers of cute. I swear, ovaries were twitching everywhere. The baby and his dad were the quietest. I don't think they uttered a peep the whole time they were there. Maybe they did after I'd gone to lunch.
Anytime you want to drop a blizzard on us, December, I will embrace it.
