Day 51 of Colosso:

And so, the Quarterfinals of Colosso come to a close. With 16 battles left until this contest ends, we are seeing some DRAMA. It's like the current baseball season here in the US--the teams that are vying for a spot in the playoffs are so close together, with 11-13 games left, that it's making for an exciting end. Same thing here. I said the leaderboard at the top was exciting yesterday? Well, the Quarterfinals have ended on such a cliffhanger in terms of the leaderboard. I'll show you later. Right now, it's the summary post.

The Quarterfinals proved to be a help for a number of you who stumbled in Round 2. Onett and Miltia provided you with plenty of points, and then as we get into the Aglis Quarterfinals, most of you seemed to hit a brick wall. Some of you redeemed yourself here in the Alexandria Division, but for some of you, the slump continues. A number of you can no longer score any more points in one or more divisions. All of you (except Cooper) still have a shot at gaining some points. A good number of you still have a shot at winning it all.

Speaking of, let's take a look here. Joshie has now been in 1st for 25 straight days. His streak continues, much to his delight, although by ONLY A HAIR. Even though Joshie got a big fat 0 tonight, Magus got 100. Joshie leads by ONLY 25 points. And now, with the Semifinal battles going at 250 points possible per each...this makes for some drama at the top.

Here's how the leaderboard looked at the end of Round 2:

1st, 2300/3200: C&T (75-21, 78.13% correct, lost the last 1 in a row) (17 days in 1st)

2nd, 2150/3200: Zack (72-24, 75% correct, won the last 2 in a row)

3rd, 2125/3200: Magus (71-25, 73.96% correct, won the last 2 in a row)

4th, 2100/3200: Saya (72-24, 75% correct, lost the last 2 in a row)

5th, 2000/3200: Mort (70-26, 72.92% correct, won the last 1 in a row)

6th, 1950/3200: Kinie (64-32, 66.66% correct, lost the last 2 in a row)

7th, 1925/2300: Zergplex (65-31, 67.71% correct, lost the last 1 in a row)

8th, 1725/3200: Sputin (61-35, 63.54% correct, won the last 1 in a row)

10th, 1600/3200: Lord of Chocobos (56-40, 58.33% correct, lost the last 5 in a row)

11th, 1375/3200: Scott (48-48, 50% correct, lost the last 3 in a row)

Tied for 12th, 1325/3200:
--Brookster (49-47, 51.04% correct, lost the last 7 in a row)
--Annie (45-51, 46.88% correct, lost the last 1 in a row)

13th, 1250/3200: WallnutBoy (45-51, 46.88% correct, lost the last 5 in a row)

14th, 250/3200: Cooper (10-86, 10.42% correct, lost the last 47 in a row)

Now, here's the current leaderboard at the end of the Quarterfinals. I will again post the win-lose record for each, % correct, and how many you have won or lost in a row. You'll notice that some of you may have a better win-lose record than others yet might sit below someone who has a worse record than you. Don't be alarmed. Even though you may have more correct battles, the person above you may have had more FULLY CORRECT picks, which net more points than partial points.

1st, 3100/4800: C&T (86-26, 76.79% correct, lost the last 3 in a row)

2nd, 3075/4800: Magus (82-30, 73.21% correct, won the last 1 in a row)

3rd, 2700/4800: Saya (80-32, 71.43% correct, lost the last 1 in a row)

4th, 2650/4800: Zack (79-33, 70.54% correct, lost the last 2 in a row)

5th, 2550/4800: Kinie (72-40, 64.29% correct, lost the last 1 in a row)

6th, 2425/4800: Zergplex (73-39, 65.18% correct, won the last 2 in a row)

7th, 2350/4800: Mort (75-37, 66.96%, lost the last 2 in a row)

8th, 2150/4800: Aeris115 (64-48, 57.14% correct, won the last 1 in a row)

9th, 2075/4800: Sputin (66-46, 58.93% correct, lost the last 5 in a row)

10th, 2050/4800: Lord of Chocobos (62-50, 55.36% correct, lost the last 2 in a row)

11th, 1625/4800: Brookster (54-58, 48.21% correct, lost the last 4 in a row)

12th, 1575/4800: Annie (50-62, 44.64% correct, won the last 1 in a row)

13th, 1525/4800: Scott (50-62, 44.62% correct, lost the last 3 in a row)

14th, 1400/4800: WallnutBoy (48-64, 42.86% correct, lost the last 8 in a row)

15th, 250/4800: Cooper (going to be last for entire contest)

And there you have it. It's becoming anyone's game in the upper half of the leaderboard.

The results tonight:

Nina 10
Felicia 8

Drachma 10
Nanami 8

3 of us picked Nina, or 20%
4 of us picked Drachma, or 26.67%

So, as I mentioned, we have 16 battles left until this contest ends. Here is how the rest of the contest is going to go:

9/18-9/21: Semifinals.

No changes in the overall records since the last round. The only change is that Joshie has extended his streak in 1st to 25 days.

Finally, predicted champions that have been eliminated to this point--I mentioned in the last round that 11 of you still have your champs in play. Let's check them now.
