I'm in a warm apple crisp.

So, the sojurn at New Paltz comes to an end, and after a crazy beginning to the weekend, I sit here, the giddiness starting to wear off as I begin to think about the coming weeks. With possible further ado, time for the last weekend recap.
Thursday: After getting out of work at 8, April and I got back here, whereupon I packed and we proceeded to make the trip back to NP. After taking some time to get munchies and fueling, we continued down Route 2 in Williamstown, where we come upon the first kink in the evening--a cop pulls us over, the reason being that April didn't have her headlights on. We had both thought they were on--we were in a very well-lit section of road, so it was hard to tell if lights were on. So she forgot, and the cop gave her a written warning--no ticket, no fine. We talked the entire way to NP, and then...we get off Exit 18, the exit to NP, and at the end of the exit ramp, near the Mobil gas station, I tell April that my manager Jaymie had broken down right in this area a week ago. Apparently, Morgan Freeman (God) decided to take this opportunity to once again play a wonderful joke. About 3 seconds after I told April this, the car begins to sputter and choke. It barely has enough to get to the Mobil before it finally stalls and dies. April looked at me and said, "you had to open your fuckin' mouth." There was nothing obviously wrong with the car--the battery didn't die, the oil was fine, the gas gauge read 1/4 tank, so we were clueless. April called for roadside assistance and a tow truck would come in 45 minutes. We were only about a half mile from the campus, but since it was pouring rain and cold, we stayed in the car. An hour and a half later, no tow truck. It's nearly 2 AM. April calls roadside assistance again, and another tow truck comes within 10 minutes and takes the car to a parking lot on campus. It's 2:30 AM, and when we arrive, we're quite tired, but we stay up with Heather for a bit before heading to bed...well, sex first, then bed.
Friday: April calls her dad to see if he can help, offer advice or something, and he brings to light one possible cause of the car's unlikely stall. The car used to April's mom, and there was one experience where her mom stalled, and the cause was that the car just simply ran out of gas, even though the gas gauge read 1/4, or thereabouts. So, April wakes me up at 10 AM (despite the fact that we'd gone to bed around 4 AM or so). Now, for all the good traits my stepdad gave me, he also gave me some bad ones--like the fact that I hate to be woken up. At this point, I had probably got a total of 8 or 9 hours of sleep in the last 2 days, so I was feeling a bit irate. However, this was an emergency--if April's car couldn't work, I wouldn't be able to get back to MCLA (which might not be such a bad thing), and we wouldn't be able to pick up Heather's new squish toy, Gamal. So, we went to a gas station, bought and filled a red gas can, and walked back to her car, and put in the 2 gallons. April's dad had arrived, and when April turned the key, the car started. It was in fact, the gas gauge. It lied. And plain and simple--we ran out of gas half a mile from the fuckin' campus. The irony of it all--we were in a gas station for TWO HOURS the previous night. The solution was right there in front of us. Yet, we didn't think that was it--it read 1/4...and had locked. So, I looked skyward and flicked the finger toward it. I swear, I could hear Morgan laughing. We got back to campus, and April went to work, and I went to Ben and Wyatt's, where I saw Nick, and we did plenty of gaming--Third Age, Mario Golf (complete with all the Wyatt putts and gaffes), and Wario Ware. Tonight, we'd all go to Pasquale's after April got out of work. On our way back, Wyatt saw Tom and invited him and Jill. We got there and much jocularity, insanity, chat, and food were had. At the end, Wyatt gave a wonderful performace of slurping sugar, in Ben, myself, Nick, and Tom would get in. Tom invited us all to a party at his house on Saturday. We got back, and since Heather was out, April and I used the time to our advantage, and I realized one thing during our fun--as I bent April in strange angles, I realized I needed a bigger bed--I kept hitting my knee into the wall, and I ended up getting my knee all nice and red, with some blood. Fun, though--she didn't mind at all. Heather would come back an hour early, drunk, but she would spot the handcuffs on the floor. We ended up going to bed, but more fun would be had.
Saturday: April had honored my request and didn't wake me up this time, and I got about 12 hours of sleep, making up for the previous two days. We went into town for a couple hours, did some Christmas and grocery shopping, then back to campus to pick Heather up, and it was off to the train station in Poughkeepsie to meet Heather's new boy toy, Gamal. And needless to say, I find him quite cool. We both have video gaming in common, and the amount of FF fanboy between us is staggering--we both want to have Sephiroth's children. Moving on, we went over to Wyatt's, where we stayed for an hour or so, to give Heather and Gamal time to themselves before heading to Tom's End of Semester/Holiday/Going Away party thingy. At first, I immediately noticed that April was uncomfortable: the large amount of people present in that small space, the unfamiliarity of it all made her feel quite uncomfortable at first, not to mention the amount of alcohol present. However, she would become more relaxed as the night wore on, thanks to Wyatt. Nick proceeded to get himself plastered, and most of us played SSBM, Wario Ware, and we also watched the end of the hilarious Ron White, and saw two episodes of "Drawn Together." Nick, by this point, was plastered. I had two shots of Puckered, but that was all the alcohol I'd consume. There was whiskey present, and I was somewhat tempted to put some in my Coke, but...it wasn't Crown. It was some brand I didn't recognize, so I passed up on it. Had it been Crown, I probably would've had one or two Crown and Cokes, since they're damn good. Around 1 AM, everyone was going to watch Boondock Saints, and April, Nick and I left. April was bored from the gaming (since she herself isn't a gamer) and didn't want to watch a movie she didn't like, I wasn't impressed by the trailer, and Nick was heavily plastered. Even though we left, I still had a good time. I'll end up missing most of them--we're all drifting to different parts of the country...Tom to Illinois, Jill back home, Nick back home, myself back to Cape Cod. Ben and Wyatt will remain at NP, as will April. So, the three of us went, and when we got back to April's, I broke out the PS2 and started playing Third Age, and April fell asleep. The room had gotten quiet, what with Gamal and Heather snogging on her bed, and April asleep, so I shut the game off, and started snogging with April, which led to more delicious fun.
Sunday: After some waking, we headed into town so I could do some more Christmas shopping, and I got some more stuff. Here's the list so far: Bob: Book--James Herriot's "Every Living Thing," CD's--James Herriot's Animal Stories, read by Christopher Timothy
Mom: Trinket box thingy, Pac-Man wristband
Heather/Lisa: A set of wristband making beady things
Mikey: RC Car
Jimmy: Book on the Yeti (pending)
David: No idea yet.
Matilda: No idea yet.
April: (snicker) Can't tell ya.
Ryan: Halo figures.
Grandma: Music box or clown thing (pending)
My cousin Sarah: CD (pending)
Rob: Something from Hot Topic (pending)
Dad: Don't know yet.
April's parents: Don't know yet.
Best friend Sarah: (snicker) Can't tell ya.
We got back, and then began the drive back. We stopped at TGI Friday's in Albany for some good food, then it was finally back here. April left, and as soon as I got online, Mom IMed me, asking me when I was coming home. So I called home, and told Bob the 21st. He asked me what I was going to do, since I'm taking a break from college. I told him that I planned on working to save up for an apartment, and to pay off MCLA. He laughed, and just said, "yep." I told him once more that I wanted to go back to NP (which he already knew). What he didn't know was that in order to do that, I need to re-establish residency in NY by living there for a year. He said that it was crazy, but it's New York, so what can I do?
Bob: So you mean, you're gonna work while you live in New Paltz, just so you can go back to college?
Brian: Yep.
Bob: You're insane. You're really insane.
Brian: I know. But it's not so bad. I'm going to be living with April, remember?
Bob: (laughs)
Brian: What?
Bob: You want to live with poontang.
Brian: (laughs) Typical Bob remark.
Bob: (laughs) Well?
Brian: Well, that's an added bonus, but it's not the only reason that I want to live with April.
Bob: (laughs) Sure. Uh-huh.
Brian: (chuckles) Think what you want--I'm not totally hormonally driven.
Bob: (chuckles) Ok.
(snicker) 50 years old, and he's still got the mind of a teenager. I love it. Anyway, also chatted with Annie, and I have officially posted the signups and bracket for the Video Game Villains Character Battle. To register, check out Into the Lifestream and/or Fantasy World. April made it back in one piece, which is always good. I'll see her again in 2 weeks.
As for the week, it looks to be quite busy: I have an essay or two to write for Modern World, a final project for my Essentials of Lit class, I have to let RPS know I'm leaving, get any paperwork needed, call my former Wal-Mart manager and let him know when I can work, and of course, the usual class schedule and McWork, all this week, with final packing to be done this weekend. My last day of McD is Thursday, then finals begin Friday. However, I have the weekend to myself before finals. Studying? Maybe.
As for all of you in NP who have finals this week, good luck!
Dan's back home, lucky bastard.
And my roomie's gone to RPS and made his claim to this room. Whatever. Anyway, hope you all had a good weekend!
Nighty night, all.
