The calm before the storm.
Sunday, 18 January 2004 23:53Woke around 10...everyone except Rob and Jamie were awake by then, a bit of a shocker. Usually I'm the last one up. The day was a very blah day overall, with plans to go to the frozen bogs cancelled due to rain. Yucky. Most of the day was spent in the basement playing video games with Rob and Jamie. Jim was finally given permission to go into the basement with us, and that's where he spent most of the day. This decision by my stepdad to allow him into the basement pissed off both Heathers, who argued that they should be allowed downstairs, for they felt they were more mature than Jim, despite the two being 2 years younger--Jim's 15, both Heathers 13. The whole day, they remained angry at Jim. Without a care, Jim was with us...inquisitive, funny, and found where Rob kept the pot. Now it has to be hidden once more from roving Jim. When Jim was upstairs at times, Rob and Jamie used them to smoke up, and clearing the area just before Jim returned to the basement. Jamie kept asking me to honk, laughing hysterically with each one. Jim vows that one day he'll catch the two getting high. Oi. I refuse to touch the stuff.
So we played SNES, primarily MK2 and Super Mario World, then Twisted Metal 4 and Crash Bandicoot 3 on PS, and then I went with Bob to get dinner...steak and cheese at D'Angelos. Mmm! This is the last time I'll have it until May. After dinner, back down with the posse for more gaming, Rob and Jamie inbibed in more pot, and Jim came down for Uno with a stoned Jamie. I brought down the PS2 and played Xenosaga. Jim finally was sent to bed by his dad, and I played on, rescuing the 13 people. Now we're upstairs...and it seems the general consensus between Rob, Jamie, and I that the Heathers' wrath will be dished out upon Jim. I think their mindset is that since Jim has been given access to hang in the basement with us, they'll raise hell with Jim, for it's (mock whiny child voice) "unfair." If they wake any of us up because of an argument, heads will roll. I'm not spending my last day tomorrow dealing with argumentitive twerps. I look forward to the return to campus Tuesday evening. However, I'll feel bad for Rob and Jamie--not only will they have one less person to help deal with the children, but they'll have to hide the pot from Jim.
