Why am I covered in goo?
Sunday, 15 August 2004 01:11Thanks to Rob, I overslept. I wasn't late for work, but I woke up half an hour than I wanted to...because Rob turned off and fiddled with the alarm. I ended up waking him up, though. Ehh...turnaround is fair play. So, I went to work...and let me say this, friends--bedlam was an understatement. Massachusetts had its very first "No Sales Tax" day, meaning no sales tax on EVERYTHING. So...for 8 hours, I was mostly in 3 places at once, Electronics, Photo, and Wireless. I spent more time in Electronics than my own Wireless department. I swear, TVs and computers were flying out of here like there was no tomorrow. Had I been a worker on comission, I would have made big bucks. It was total melee as I lifted TVs and such. As soon as I was finished with one customer, 5 others would look at me, saying "excuse me..." Other than my meal break, I didn't get a moment's rest. And you'd think I would sell a lot of cell phones today...only 1. Yeesh.
So, I'm quite tired.
I came home, chatted with April, fought with siblings for phone control, and did most of my packing for tomorrow's adventure. Tomorrow is part one of the trip: Falmouth, MA to Providence, RI, where I will spend the night in a hotel, then get to the airport Monday morning for the flight to Oklahoma...Providence to Newark, NJ; Newark to Memphis, TN, then finally from Memphis to Tulsa, OK, where I'll see Sarah on Monday afternoon. It'll be fun, very much so.
Anyway, now to finish packing, and then to bed. Nighty night, all.
