Saturday, 11 September 2004 02:28First of all, today marks the one-year anniversary of the LJ, A Bit of Wit. Thanks to Catie, who began EVERYONE on the LJ craze last year at NP. (grins) Happy b-day, LJ!
Next, the day. Woke at 11:30 to some belting of Michael Jackson...better than waking to Marilyn Manson. So I find out that not only is my entire suite filled with gamers, but we have an eclectic range of music likes. Michael Jackson, classic rock, anime (J-pop), rap music (which is an oxymoron in itself), and even classical...then of course, me--who likes almost all of them, including the fine, fine works of Nobuo Uematsu and Harry Gregson-Williams (composers for the Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid series, respectively)
Writing resumed on Dino Crisis: Ibis Island and the Third Energy. Prologue is mostly written. Very soon, I'll have something posted on www.nfiction.com, the new place to have fanfiction. I like how they refer to FF.net:
"We are back in full swing. One of our rival sites (a "Bad Place") has repeatedly attempted to crash us for good. But all attempts have been thwarted. nFiction.com once again Apologizes for our unstable state for the past 2-3 days."
Total, sheer, utter brilliance.
Financial Aid has me running around in piles of red tape...here I am, now looking to get the full Stafford...but to do that, red tape needs to be cut, and I began on that process. Our RA Doug took the B5 floor for an outing in North Adams, and I realized that the Mass MoCA is in walking distance. Possible job? And I also find out that with my student ID, admission to the Mass MoCA is free. Free's always good. Arrived back here, and went to the Bingo Night in the Centennial Room, where much prizes were given away...I had my heart set on the portable DVD player...and a 24-pack of Coke and/or grog. However, I wasn't lucky...but had fun, nonetheless. It became predictable when O-69 came up and all of us yelled, cheered, hollered, and applauded. Came back from that, chatted with April, then did some more writing (can you tell I'm back in full swing?) and chatting with the online posse, then chatted with Sarah, and here I am, getting ready for bed, dead tired, but wanting to write more. More! MORE!!!!
BTW: If you have AIM/Yahoo/MSN, get the program Trillian. Amazing program--can be on all 3 of those at once without having all of them run individually. If you want: www.trillian.cc
But even God took a rest, as will I. Time to sleep, and look ahead to tomorrow.
