Aww, no one wore the turkey this time!
Sunday, 28 November 2004 21:44Well, the Thanksgiving weekend overall wasn't bad at all--went much better than I expected, really. Once again, you all are spared from any outrageous sexual gaffes on anyone's part. So, here we go.
Thursday: Oh, yum, I say. The house was filled with wonderful aroma of turkey, goose, and all the fun trimmings of a Thanksgiving feast. As I had said, Rob bought me MGS3 for my birthday, and I started it. Rob bought Silent Hill 4: The Room for Xbox, and as he was playing it, we all were upstairs enjoying life. Around 5 or so, we all pigged out, myself having two full plates of fun, delicious food. Needless to say, I was totally stuffed. Afterwards, we all sat in the living room, listening to one of April's Celtic Christmas CDs, and Rob, April, and I did Liverdance, and Bob took many pictures. We all had fun, and then delicious pie followed, and everyone began to settle down. Later, Jim, Heather, April and I played a game of Monopoly. April dropped out first, then Heather fell, and it was down to Jim and I. 3 and a half hours after it started, I won, and then April and I went downstairs, where I wrote, and April went to sleep. And a major plus--Rob has decided to quit smoking for me. He smoked the last of his pot, then smashed his bowls. I hope it lasts. :)
Friday: We woke, and the Big Three (Rob, April, and I) went to Sweet Tomato, a pizza place in town. We feasted on yummy pizza, and I told April about the Ocean Village, a used bookstore just a few feet away, so we went, and Rob bought her and I books--a medieval book for her, and a box set of 4 of Tolkien for $8. Rob bought some Mike's Hard Lemonade for nighttime, then we headed back. Shortly after, all of us went for a walk in Beebe Woods, and pictures were taken. We got back, and had leftover turkey and trimmings. We kicked Rob out of the room, and April and I had some fun. We went to Wal-Mart, where April met Jen, and Rob bought LotR: The Third Age. Then, time for gaming and writing, and after, the Big Three drank Mike's while listening to music, and watched the first disc of the extended version of The Two Towers. Rob would end up falling asleep, and after the first disc ended, the two of us crawled into bed, had fun, and went to sleep.
Saturday: I didn't want to leave, and neither did April, but we had no choice. We chose to leave today so as to not hit the Thanksgiving traffic on the return trip. Also, we both have schoolwork to do, and rather than cram it all in Sunday with a 5-6 hour drive, well, you get the idea. Before we left, Bob chatted with me about what my plans were for college, and as I was taking a shower, I had done a lot of thinking, and after all the crap that has built up over financial matters at MCLA, and about how all my options failed, I came to the realization that I have to throw in the towel, for now. MCLA has won this round, and so I must return home for the spring semester. I have to pay MCLA for this semester, so that my grades will transfer back to NP. Hopefully, I can get away with an installment plan of sorts. So that's that. We left, and went to Wal-Mart, picked up some stuff, and I talked to my former manager and co-workers, letting them know I'll be returning. On the way back, as I was writing, my decision to withdraw from MCLA was running around in my mind, and I was thinking about all the consequences, both positive and negative. When we got into a rest stop, my mind got to the fact that I'd only be seeing April once a month, and she'd be 300 miles away from me again, and I started to cry. This leads into my college rant.
