Any shorter, it'd be a belt.
Thursday, 3 February 2005 02:28Natural law dictates that if one is happy, then life and/or the deity on duty (God, Buddha, Gozer, Iluvitar, Vigo, Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man, whatever) will attempt to make situations which kill traces of happiness. This is what happens when one declares him or herself free of religious trappings, and absolves themselves of organized religion. The gods up there don't like that. Do I care? Not in the slightest. I'll live my life the way I want to, damn it. I don't need a book full of contradictions, with people with just as many telling me how to live life. With that said, onto the day.
As you all had come to know, the last few days had been a series of shit days, what with me feeling lonely, the trip to Oklahoma falling through, my April having her scheduled messy hormonal rollercoaster and me not being able to be there to comfort her and be there, etc. So, when I went to the post office this morning to mail out the first of 3 textbooks, singing without being confined did my mind wonders, and I went to work very happy. So, to try to counteract said happiness, the amount of stupidity I was involved in was significantly higher than normal, with customers doing what they could to try to piss me off. I even got an assistant manager to yell at me because I wasn't doing other people's work. Sorry--running 2 (sometimes 3) departments is not part of my job description. Wasn't what I was hired to do. Yet, despite the increased asshole tendencies on the part of the stupid, moronic public in an attempt to bring me down, I remained happy. I had Alla Luce del Sole and Oceano stuck in my head all day. Not to mention I did something kind of illegal...I helped someone put a TV into their car, and it was a mess--had to take it out of the box because this BIG 27 INCH TV wouldn't fit in the RC car. I was out there, 15-20 minutes trying to get this thing in. It did, and I was given $10 by the customer for helping. I turned it down once, but he insisted, and so...hey, an extra hour's plus wages. Food money for tomorrow without dipping into my bank account. By the time work ended, Rob picked me up and we went to the Nimrod to get Grandma, where I also heard my grandpa play some wonderful piano music...I've always loved listening to his piano. Anyway, we got back, I chatted with April, then Sarah online for a bit, showered, and here I am. Still happy. And going to bed soon because I work...I can't wait for Friday. Friday...a day off after working 5 straight.
Sara, we should sing a duet. Have Phelpsie watch the fun.
Nighty night, all.
