Crossover racks constitutes a cheap thrill.
Wednesday, 5 October 2005 12:43Once again in the Paltz, this time in the Humanities lab. Work has been droll of late, but yesterday was a bit more interesting. I was abruptly awakened at 9 or so in the AM by Laurie, department manager of photo. She thought I was scheduled to come in and work 9-6. Apparently she doesn't know her own scehdule. She asked me to come in early because due to her scheduling fuck-up, she was the only one on until 12, when I would come in. I refused, simply on the grounds that April's mom, bro, and aunt were coming down and wanted to see them. I would've come in early on one condition--if I kept the overtime, which Wal-Mart DOES NOT WANT TO PAY. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. This week, as a result of understaffing, I've racked up nearly 40 extra minutes--chances are on Friday when next I work, they'll ask me to take an extra long lunch to kill my overtime, to which I'll say fuck that. I worked it, I want it. So, April's mom arrived bearing a supermarket full of food--well, there goes the food shopping planned for this paycheck, which goes into my account tonight...good thing, too--I have a whopping 56 cents in my bank account.
Tomorrow I go in to Staples to fill out pre-employment paperwork, and then Friday, I will give my notice to Wal-Mart, of which they are going to be PISSED. They're going to lose their underpaid technician and resident techie. Boo. Hoo. Hoo. I should send them a bill for services rendered on that printer of which has had no major problems for 2 weeks now since I operated on it--a few minor things easily remedied. I think that it will be high time to get a new printer, though--it's 7 years old, been there since the store opened in 1999.
In other news, Red Sox got thrashed yesterday, Yankees won, Padres won. We'll see what happens today. Other than that, 2 new icons. SHINY.
OH--and I got a Phantom mask!!!!! The costume is complete! Although I saw on eBay: the Really Useful Group and Warner Bros. have put out an official replica mask for Halloween--the mask is a replica of Gerard Butler's in the movie. I saw them for $7-$10 on eBay. I just may have to get one. Halloween may be fun--I'll be the Phantom, and you can be sure I'll be putting up pics.
Oh, and for the music nerd in me:

Cb major - life is full of complecations,
commitments and organisation. You love to make
sure everything is just perfect, but sometimes
this can cause you to fall over your own feet.
A slightly unsociable key: why Cb major when
you could be the identical Bmajor? It has less
accidentals.
Meanwhile, off for now.
