April came home yesterday, the car fixed. And so we took full advantage it and had fun sex.
The Wal-Mart rehiring has come to a snag, and it was a good thing I didn't give my 2 weeks at Staples. Here's why: at the re-interview, I was told that I'd have to start all over again at starting pay, 8.90 an hour, instead of the wage when I left, 9.30 an hour. Why? Because I left the company, and I'm being hired again as a new hire. So my previous 13 months with Wal-Mart will have been for naught. I've only been gone 6 weeks, and I was told this. To which I said that I can't take that wage. And I told Alan that if I don't get that, I'm not coming back. That's bullshit. Both of them have told me that they really want me back in the Photo Lab, showering me with praise, I was one of their best, etc, etc, yet they want to start me all over at the bottom.
Fuck. That.
And so I went home after, took a look at the budget for the apartment, and what it'd look like on 8.90 an hour. Wouldn't be able to pay rent. The combined funds from April and I would not be enough to cover all the bills for the month, and I told Alan this. He's my next-door neighbor, he knows exactly how high rent is in this complex. And I told him the same thing, 9.30 an hour or I can't return. I simply can't afford to drop that low.
And not to brag, but I'm worth more than that, for the amount of praise they have bestowed on me.
So, we've hit a snag. I'll go all the way to the store manager, maybe Home Office if I must, but if I can't get back 9.30, then too bad. I'll stay at Staples, despite the boring-ness of the job.
Preparations for contest entry continue on--I've finished writing up the contest FAQ, the bracket is done, I now have to upload all the pics to Photobucket, and make some sort of file showing all the pics for all characters.
In other news, last concert of the semester is Sunday, the 11th, 7 PM at Studley Theatre in New Paltz. We've got some Gershwin and Rhapsody in Blue action, some other orchestral works, and of course, the Chorale. I look forward to it. BE THERE!
AND NO ONE HAS BID ON MY EBAY ITEMS YET. BUY FROM ME, DAMN IT.
All righty, off I go.
Nighty night, all.
