And the winners are...
Sunday, 2 April 2006 23:44Yeah, this is a long post. But the contest ended, and here are the winners.
Goodbye, farewell, and amen to the Female Gamer Character Battle Contest. It's been fun, and probably one of the most exciting contests we've done. It's also held the largest turnout, 22 people in. Thank you, everyone!
Before I announce the winners, let me begin by giving congrats to those who made records this contest:
Longest Win Streak, number of straight days in 1st: myself, 17 days. Didn't break the overall, held by TetsuoTrunks at 46.
Longest Losing Streak, number of straight days in last: TetsuoTrunks set out what he wanted to do--be in last for the entire contest. And with tonight, he's done it. The only way that anyone will break that record is if I make the contest longer. However, I like this format, so I think it'll stay. Besides, I don't think anyone else wants that record. Congrats!
Most Consecutive Battles Won: this contest, it was 17, done by both C&T and Seraphi Magus. No one broke the Overall Record of 18, held by Seraphi Magus and noxiousCaitSith. Well done!
Most Consecutive Battles Lost: TetsuoTrunks broke the overall record, previously 17 held by Zergplex. TetsuoTrunks made it 31.
Saya had won all 4 Division Final matches for the 2nd straight contest, something that is very rare. CroutonPope had accomplished this feat as well. Congrats to the two of you!
Now, for the most important part--this is why you're viewing this thread. First of all, let me say this: I did NOT finish in 1st, which means that whoever won it, won it outright.
As for the vote turnout in this contest--WHY THE HELL COULDN'T I HAVE SEEN SUCH A HIGH VOTE TURNOUT FOR EVERY BATTLE THIS CONTEST?!
[/rant]
The contest, for the 2nd straight time, was decided by tiebreaker. In the last contest, Scorpion had won the tie-breaker over Sub-Zero in SSM, giving me the win. Now, when I checked the battles at ending time...we were at a 26-26 tie.
So, I go to a tiebreaker, my #3...because my #1 and 2 had already voted. Me, I let him go vote for whoever while I took a piss. And then it was decided.
SAMUS IS THE FGCB CHAMPION!!!!
Nintendo fanboys, rejoice! Samus wins it in a 27-26 thriller that began the moment I posted it to the moment it ended. Congratulations to Samus!
Now, for the winners of the contest.

Everyone who played, thank you very much for being part of my contest. The turnout was higher than I anticipated, and it was a great thing. I hope to see just as much, even more for the next contest, which is going to be all RPG characters, set to go in July. I've already in the works several new things for this contest, of which I'll let you all know as the signups get closer.
Joshie, as always, thank you for allowing me to run these contests on your forum. I know how much it helps drive traffic to FW.
Saya, as champion, you have a choice of prizes to choose from--pick one:
--A video game of your choice
--$50 gift card to either Hot Topic, EB Games, or GameStop.
Joshie, I already told you my choice--the $25 Hot Topic gift card. You can order them on their website, www.hottopic.com.
And Diamond, you have a choice of a $20 gift card at either Hot Topic, EB, or GameStop.
You guys can take your time deciding. When you do, please let me know, along with your addresses so I can mail them out as quickly as my income will allow me.
To everyone who played, here is where I turn the floor over to you. I try to make these contests more interesting and fun, and have used your feedback in the past. Give me feedback--anything is helpful. What did you like about the contest, what you didn't like, anything you'd like to see in the next one, what do you want removed for the next one, different choices for prizes, how to make signup easier, etc, etc.
Any and all feedback is welcome. Since I am also posting this in my LiveJournal and the FWUnlimited LJ, leave me an LJ comment. Send me an email, with subject line: "Contest Feedback." You can send me a PM on the forum with your feedback, or get ahold of me online via AIM, Yahoo, or MSN--all my contact info should be in my profile.
Again, congratulations to the winners, and again, thank you very much for playing. I do these contest not only because I like to do it, but you people enjoy them too. You guys are a fun group. I only hope to see more of you signup for the summer contest (RPG characters), set to begin in July.
And on that note, FGCB has officially ended.
Nighty night, all.
