Remember when you asked me how a bullet comes out of a gun?
Thursday, 20 April 2006 20:03BOOM!
Liquid nitrogen (or whatever the very cold liquid is inside the bottom of a can of compressed air) + an airtight Fujifilm canister + a warm hand = LOUD BOOM!
Rob and I discovered this amazing new way to scare the shit out of people during the very dead day in Photo. I happened upon the basic scientific principle by accident, when I turned a can of compressed air upside down, sprayed some of the contents into a film canister, closed it, and held it for a couple of seconds. The resulting explosion sent the lid into the fan on the ceiling, much like a cork bottle flying off a champagne bottle. Got the attention of a couple customers, nearly gave an elderly woman a heart attack, and gave me a leering grin. This was the highlight of my day.
Yesterday, however, great fun. We were in New Paltz for a while, then brought Ben, Brie, and Mary back to our apartment for a night of food and fun. And what fun was had. April won everyone over with the chicken curry, which coincidentally, was the appetizer of the very same dinner that we had when Carolyn and the Dans helped us move in last May, the day I escaped from 291 Old Barnstable Road forever.
We played some darts, gamed--I began Kingdom Hearts 2, and want it. Badly. Great fun all night. We ended up getting back to NP to drop the three off around 1 AM or so. Mary had fallen asleep long before and looked so cute bundled up in April's Invader Zim blanket.
April will be home in a bit, I'm gonna get dinner started, as well as laundry soon. Off I go.
