Video Game Heroes: the theme of the next contest!
Saturday, 28 October 2006 12:16So, thanks to your voting, the themes of the next TWO character battles have been decided. This winter shall see the Video Game Heroes Character Battle contest, or VGH. Summer 2007 will see the Old School vs. New School contest.
The final voting:
Old School: 8 (combined total of 20 in the first and second polls)
Old vs. New: 13 (combined total of 24 in 1st and 2nd polls)
Heroes: 20 (combined total of 36 in 1st and 2nd polls)
Thanks to everyone who voted. But now I turn the floor to you once again. Signups will begin December 5, as to allow my college friends time to sign up before they all undergo their massive studying for semester's end projects and final exams.
Between now and then, I ask all of you (even if you don't intend on entering the contest) to give me suggestions for characters you'd like to see in the contest. Because I am using the seeded bracket once again (which worked fairly well in the last contest), I ask that you send your submissions privately to me. I want to have repeat suggestions--the more people suggest a character, the higher seeding it will be.
Criteria for the characters:
--You can pull from the pool of games from the NES to the current generation of systems. No characters from PC games, please.
--Characters have to have played the role of the hero in whatever game they come from. Sometimes games have more than 1 hero. Main characters do not always mean hero.
--When submitting suggestions, you can submit as many as you like. Please indicate what game they are from, and from what system. This will help me in trying to find their pics for use in the contest.
Suggestions can be sent to me in any of the following methods:
