Maybe I should've stayed in Ithaca for a couple more days.

The weekend was nice, definitely so. The only real inconveniences was that the buses were rather late--both arriving and leaving. Friday night saw me arriving in Ithaca, meeting a happy Carolyn. We walked through Ithaca Commons, had a bite to eat before heading back to her dorm. I had known that she had a single, but I didn't anticipate how tiny it was. I mean, for 1 person, it's quite alright--but wow. Tiny rooms. Still, I was tired from the near 5 hour bus ride, and just felt like loafing for the night. Carolyn too had seemed tired from a long week, so we just lounged around. She showed me the pilot to the show Firefly, and I liked it. I may have to download some episodes. It was nearly midnight when we went to bed, myself taking a slice of floor.

Saturday rolls around, and Carolyn takes me to a dining hall for brunch. There, I was introduced to some of her performing arts frat, and we got into a discussion about RenFaires. And yes, the food is better than Asspuke, for all you NP folk. After, she had an initiation ceremony--there was a couple of new pledges to the frat, and so I was alone for an hour or two, to which I just used her computer and read some fanfic. Late afternoon rolled around, and we all went to Chili's, new experience for me, where I got to meet the rest of the group. Fun times. We went back to the college and we played Apples to Apples, my version of the game's inaugural play-through. Always a hysterical game. This was then followed by a game of picture telephone--something like a cross between Pictionary and Telephone. Perfect for people who can't draw. After the games died down, Luke, the big cheese of the frat, entertained by blaring horns out at the passing drunks--from what I gathered, there was a big football game there over the weekend, which led to much drunken revelry. I took some pics of the hilarity, and I have to get them developed soon. As the night died down, went back to Carolyn's room where she did some RPing and I played on her GBA until bed.

Sunday, I woke up late, but Carolyn got out of bed nearly an hour after I woke. Went down to breakfast where we met up with Jesse and her roommate. There, I brought up the upcoming contest and they wrote down a list of suggestions for me. We exchanged contact info, and shortly after, it was onto the bus station. Carolyn saw me off, and I was on my way home. Got to Syracuse, where we'd discover that my bus back to Schenectady would be delayed by 30 minutes because of a late bus arriving, blah, blah, blah. Didn't get home until nearly 9 PM. April was glad to see me back, and later, she showed me just how much she missed me...

Yesterday, I should've just stayed in bed. It was gloomy and gray, and when we got to work, we discovered the power was out. Apparently, if the power remains out for x amount of hours, then everyone is sent home. It was getting near time--power had been out since 8 AM, and rumors were going that at 10, we'd be let out if the power didn't come back on. My boss was beginning to make plans for the day if she was going to go home. Alas, it wasn't meant to be--power returned between 9:30 and 9:45. After work ended at 5, that's when the fun stopped. April's car died again. It stalled and died, and wouldn't start again. It was fine getting to work--refused to start this time. Apparently, that car has had a history of breaking down when it's wet. It doesn't like rain at all. And it died. The necessity of getting a new car (and a license for me) has become rather urgent now, just in time for the holidays. AGAIN. This time, however, I refuse to let the dead car stop me from seeing my family for the holidays for a second straight year. I'll go by bus if I must. So, it was towed to Albany--her family has a pet mechanic, and they'll see what's up. In the meantime, we called out of work today and began exploring cars. Now comes the fun part of car loans and finding a decent used car. Any and all suggestions on this process would be helpful.

So, yeah, that's the weekend. Now I go shower and continue my RE4 story afterwards.

EDIT: Now, off to bed. 24,012/50,000 words. HA. Just about halfway there, folks.
