Damn, what a gullible breed.
Friday, 17 November 2006 18:23People are stupid. But we knew this. As I take a look at the news articles about several instances of violence that has occured with regard to these PS3s, mostly teens who are willing to beat up and steal other's legitimately paid-for systems, I just sigh. IT'S ONLY A GAMING SYSTEM, PEOPLE.
Besides, I'd just rather take that $600 and spend it on something I will use a lot, like a negative scanner. If any of you right now are currently bidding on a PS3 and are willing to pay any more than the MSRP, YOU'RE AN IDIOT.
With that said, let's move on.
It's been a crazy week, and glad it's over. April's car has been in the shop, which has effectively nixed our plans to go to New Paltz this Sunday for my 21st b-day. With that said, I've asked some of you if you were able to come up here instead. So far, some of you have said ok, and I'll be seeing you on Sunday. Dan H, Dan D, Wyatt, Shanti, Brie...if you're able to, come up here and spend my 21st birthday with me. (cheesy grin) We plan on having much fun--going out to the Olive Garden, gaming, chatting, mead will be had among some other various drinks. So, if you're able, come on up! I'll give you directions.
In other news, the RE4 madness continues. I am right where I should be, and hope to end at just under 30,000 words tonight. Chapter Six is up, so go read! http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3225097/7/
Also, Dan H--RenFaire contest pics MUST be postmarked by Monday.
Today, April and I became permanent employees, the probationary period ended. Which means thus: a pay raise of $1300 (before tax, spread out over the year) and the ability to have and use paid vacation time. Also, it now makes it very hard for the State to fire you (since permanent employment is equivalent to teachers getting tenure), because you have full union representation. So yay. I don't have to walk on eggshells anymore. Thank god.
In the meantime, still looking for more contest character suggestions! Only 5 have given suggestions. Remember, this is a chance to see characters YOU select battling it out in the upcoming Video Game Heroes character battle contest.
Now, to enjoy some post-probation celebratory food.
