Battle Royal, Day 58.

A statement I made in last night's podcast has to now be modified. I said last night that a FF7 character could go up against anyone, any contest, and still win. Because everyone loves FF7 that much. Hell, put a useless character like Cait Sith against Kirby and Cait Sith would win. Unless, as we discovered tonight, that opponent is Mario. Then the FF7 fanboys (and girls) flock to the mustachioed plumber. Mario flushed Red XIII in a landslide win. Although, I have to say, I was a bit nervous before I checked the results, given the recent slate of major favorites collapsing to your non-votes and complacency in thinking that these major characters won't drop out. Luckily, my fears were allayed. On the other battle, this one I expected a close one, grueling to the end, and in the final hour or so, some votes in Luigi's favor forced our 3rd tiebreaker. This time, the tiebreaker voted for the (very slight) favorite--Yoshi. Luigi once again, is made of epic fail. So, in the First Donuts Final, it will be Mario going against Yoshi!!! Now, on to our next set of Semifinals, here in the Second Chance division.

Summary: The unlucky 7th podcast breaks down all the Quarterfinal action, including its usual mix of results. However, Murphy and his law once again reared their ugly heads as this one ended up being recorded with just myself...falling victim to hosts never materializing, bad Internet connections, late start, and MediaFire being absolutely shitty. However, there indeed was a 40 minute block of time where I managed to get just myself.
