And you eat a spoon fair.
Monday, 7 April 2008 23:10So, my tenure at the portrait studio has officially ended. It was fun while it lasted, but I'm going to enjoy having my weekends back. I was on call last weekend, in case they needed an extra body to buffer against the onslaught of people clamoring for a piece of the new digital action, but I wasn't called, and so I got to spend Saturday in Albany, at April's parents for dinner. I also got my new toy, the correct digital camera, the Canon Powershot A710, and have been putzing around with it. It's a fucking awesome point-and-shoot. It's got a nifty feature in which you can have the lens focus on one color, and when the shot is taken, everything that is NOT your specified color will be black and white, and everything that is your specified color will be in color, making for some awesome effects. Here's some quick examples:

Sunday was a day of loafing and laundry, and so it's back to work for the week...until this weekend, where several of our mutual friends will be up here for April's birthday weekend, which is starting to become April's birthday WEEK. This weekend, friends come up for fun and fun, then on the 16th (her actual birthday), it'll be just her and I at the Olive Garden, and then the following weekend, birthday fun and food with her family.
So, let's quickly get to the weekend. I'm still advocating for a week in which there's 3 and a half days work, and the same for play. It'll never happen, we're too capitalistic in this country. Wishful thought, though. In the meantime, it's baseball season, and I think I'm back to MLB Power Pros (or as Ben and I affectionately call it, Wiible Wobble Baseball). I'm waiting for the console sports game to include roster changes that can be downloaded into the system every year, instead of forcing us to buy the same game year after year, only to get shiny graphics and updated rosters, without much gameplay change (coughcoughcoughMaddencoughcough...and every other sports game). Again, more wishful thinking.
It's off to bed, but it could be worse. I could be stuck in the audience. DOH HO HO HO!
Nighty night, all.
