Status: Brian null.
Sunday, 29 June 2008 13:22I didn't know that Brian null can be called a status, really. Such is MySpace for you. Anyway, here we are again, another week ended, another beginning. Last week saw me ending a job and beginning my new promotion job, all while fighting off a summertime cold. And now the bottom of my nose is peeling off. Joy. But now the cold has gone, leaving me with broken-up congestion and all the usual fun. 8 days ago I was at SPAC, enjoying the Dave Matthews Band, while last night, it was the completely opposite end of the spectrum. Yesterday, April and I were in the Berkshires, walking around downtown Lee, then catching a performance at Tanglewood--Garrison Keillor and company came around once again to do a live radio broadcast of A Prairie Home Companion, and this time April and I decided on lawn seats. The last few times we've been to Tanglewood, we got seats in the Music Shed, but damn they're uncomfortable. So we got lawn seats, had chairs, and had a picnic while Garrison and company entertained us for 3+ hours. Garrison lamented the fact that people were "having Sangria on the lawn," and having more fun out there than he was up there. And here's a tip: it's not a good idea to have an unopened bottle of mead sit in your fridge for 15 months. While it tastes good, oh, is it powerful. That's 15 more months fermenting time.
It was a great show, even including the extra hour of encore performance. Now, the show runs every Saturday night on public radio, from 6 PM to 8 PM (ET), but we got serenaded by the acting company 15 minutes before and a full hour after the show went off the air.
So now, I'm suddenly free for the entire day. What was supposed to be a D&D game today ended up being cancelled due to Erica getting a stomach bug (never fun), so I may end up gaming or going out to see "Get Smart." We'll see what happens.
In the meantime, voting for the next Character Battle contest ends this Tuesday, so if you haven't put in the vote, do so! Right now, Silent Hill has the lead:
