So Sage has reached its spring break. On the plus side, it means I have no work due, which means I've got 2 non-college-work-related weekends in a row. While I love the photo work, the stress and energy expended in a 40-hour workweek, two classes, and then devoting nearly the entire weekend to coursework is draining. This will be a nice pause in the action. I know that Photo I kicks it into higher gear, with more conceptual and theme-based assignments coming, not to mention actually making finished, matted works of art. If we hadn't mastered the technical stuff now, 6 weeks in, we stand a good chance of being left in the dust come the second half. I think I did well on my Photo I and my History of Photo midterms...grades should be given in the upcoming week.
And on March 18, I'll be registering for the fall semester. Already. Means I gotta kick my ass into gear and file FAFSA. One small problem, though. It requires me to do my taxes. It's something I don't mind doing...except when after it's all said and done, I still owe the IRS $165. Apparently, I made too much...if $28K for the year is too much. But yet, NY will give me back $50. Go figure. Despite my finances, I did manage to get a reprieve: the fact that I'm now in college at half-time status (6 credits), my student loans got put on automatic deferment, meaning that I can make payments towards them at my leisure. This saves me nearly $100 a month, which is awesome. And with a raise about to kick in (provided the Governor doesn't take it away, just so he can give his staff another 30% raise), I should see a little more money.
I did say I was registering for fall classes soon, and so I'll be taking two drawing classes. What does it have to do with photography? I don't know yet, but these courses are required as part of the major. I'll be taking Drawing I and 2-Dimensional Design. Luckily, 2D design is in the evening, which means that I won't have to modify my work schedule too badly. If anything, it'll mean that for 3 days out of the week, instead of being at the office for 10 hours, I'll be there for 9. It may be an hour difference, but it will make all the difference in the world. That 10th hour I work now, 4:30 to 5:30, leaves me the only one left in the office. And by that point, usually, there's no work left for me to do. Which means boredom. I look forward to the classes in the fall, but I know they're gonna be challenging as hell. They're both studio drawing courses, and then we have me, who can draw stick figures. That's about it. On the plus side, drawing supplies look to be far cheaper than photo supplies.
In other news, Annie was here last weekend, and fun was had. Got to bowl, play my belated Christmas gift--Monopoly Mega (in which I claimed victory over April and Annie in 3 and a half hours)--and gamed. Next time I see her will probably be in June, when we go see Dave Matthews Band at SPAC.
I also got a Twitter, so jump on board:

deviantART. GO LOOK! COMMENT! Perhaps buy?
All right, time to do a bit of gaming, then hop in the shower. Oh--Annie, Wyatt, and April: good luck on your PCT exam tomorrow!
