a_bit_of_wit_2: (Omelet prevail!)
You know the economy is getting bad when I can afford Charmin. When that stuff's cheaper than the usual cheap toilet paper I buy, we're in trouble.

So a happy Easter, chocolate day, whatever you want to celebrate day to anyone and everyone--hope it's been as ham-filled as mine. It's been a good weekend, all in all. Yesterday I took April to see her birthday present (yes, I know her birthday's on the 16th, but...) in the form of a musical--Sweeney Todd was in Proctors last night, and so what better birthday present than a show about revenge, cannibalism, death, and lots of blood? Awesome, awesome performance. Very well choreographed, and quite nice. The actors were very good as well.

Speaking of Proctors, I did mention this on Facebook, and so I'll impart this to you now, should anyone be interested: the musical RENT is returning to Proctors this summer, right here in Schenectady. From July 28 to August 2, the latest touring company for the show will perform this awesome musical. Not only that, but it is starring the two original male leads--Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal in their respective roles as Mark and Roger. Tickets for the show begin at $65 for the orchestra sections and go down from there. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 1st, at 10 AM.

In other news, my first semester back in college will be coming to an end on May 1, and with it, I'll be reverting back to my old work schedule--8 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday. While I certainly am glad to be back in college, the break from not having to work 10 hour days and go back and forth between home, work, and school on a daily basis will be welcome. Plus, I'll get my weekends back--my Saturdays won't be spent shooting film, and my Sundays won't be eaten up by the darkroom. Not until next Spring, when I take Photo 2 (Photo 2 is not offered in the fall) will I be spending my time in the darkroom again. It may also mean, should our friend and DM [livejournal.com profile] arclayn be feeling up to snuff, we can resume our D&D game, something we haven't done in many months. Speaking of D&D, I'm sure all of you nerds know by now that the co-creator of D&D, Dave Arneson, passed away a few days ago. Read the article here.

And so I'm going to unwind now by getting back into MGS4, maybe finishing it tonight. We'll see. So far, absolutely brilliant, awesome game thus far. Let's hope it continues.
