Quick weekend blurbs:
Friday, 1 May 2009 07:22April and I are going to be in New Paltz/Rosendale this weekend to attend the Hudson Valley Mayfaire, or Renfaire Lite. Going with Wyatt and company, and this should be quite fun indeed. Possibly seeing the new X-Men movie tonight while in New Paltz. Mary may wish to tag along.
Tickets for RENT go on sale at Proctors Theatre in Schenectady today. This tour stars Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal in their former roles as Mark and Roger. The show runs from July 28 to August 2, and tickets start at $65, and go down from there. You can bet I'll be at the box office when it opens (Proctors is right next to the NY Lottery) at 10 AM. You can also go online at www.proctors.org should you be interested.
I got a perfect score (105) on my History of Photography final, and got an A for the course. I'm impressed that my professor for that course graded our final exam and posted said grades in 1 day, while my Photo I professor takes his sweet time. We showed our final portfolios to him over a week ago, and no grade yet. I suspect that he'll post them when the college says that they're due.
I also filed FAFSA last night for the next school year, and so far, things look discouraging, as I expected. I made 28000 last year, and the preliminary "expected family contribution" is about $7300. Translated, that's the total cost of 4 courses, 2 per semester, without any aid. I fully expect to get reamed, as was the case when I went to New Paltz and MCLA. I'm not getting my hopes up at all. If the Feds thought that my stepdad was too rich making 50k a year and supporting a family of 6, surely they'll think that my salary of 28,000 is more than adequate to support college, on top of all the other bills that April and I must maintain, like, oh...rent.
So, yes, at 6 PM tonight, we make for New Paltz, and Mary, if you need to be yoinked from campus, call me. We'll be getting into the area around 7:30-8 PM.
Enjoy the weekend!
