The tribute to the Groogrux King.
Sunday, 14 June 2009 10:57It was wet, muggy, and smelled of pot, cigarettes, and cigars, but last night's Dave Matthews Band concert at Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) was pure awesome. It was raining for the entire concert; a light constant rain that left us all pretty soaked after the 3-hour concert. The opening band, The Hold Steady, wasn't a band I'd go and see anytime soon. So yet, despite rain, it was a very packed SPAC, and then awesomeness prevailed for 3 hours. Many of the songs played came off the new album, Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King, which was released a couple of weeks ago...they were good. I bought the album yesterday, now I need to listen to it. The set list from last night:
Annie and I will definitely be going to next year's concert. This is the 3rd of the band's concerts we've seen together, and it's always a lot of fun.
But now, time to have some breakfast, then get the day moving; also, need to prepare for the Character Battle contest, slated to begin tomorrow night right here on this LJ and Late to the Party.
