The first third of the vacation.

Saturday: got here, set up, hunted down a food place and ate hot dogs and beans. NOM.
Sunday: went to Falmouth to visit my family. Also headed to downtown Falmouth, went to Blast From The Past, and April scored more movie cards. Went to Artie's cafe, and then it was back to my folks for dinner and merriment before heading back to camp. I was disappointed--saddened, actually--that the Hearth & Kettle in Falmouth is gone, replaced by a grill place. I spent many years going there for breakfasts and now it's gone. Sleeping was an issue, though. Awfully humid--didn't sleep well.
Yesterday: after breakfast at Hearth & Kettle in Orleans, went to Mass Audubon at the Wellfleet Bay sanctuary. Driving through Eastham and Wellfleet reminded me of the last time I was up this way--8 or so years ago, when I went to the Cape on vacation with Dan H. and his family. Nice to know that the Lobster Shanty, Poit's Mini Golf and the Game Barn are still around. After taking copious amounts of pics at Mass Audubon, we hit up both those mini golf places--sorry, Dan, did not hit it into the clown's mouth this time at the Barn--and then it was off to the Lobster Shanty for fish and chips. Then we went briefly to Cooks Point Beach in Eastham before heading back to camp.
Today: going to the Cape Cod National Seashore to get raped by Mother Nature. I'll be nicely exfoliated and scoured, and also experience the New England sense of humor--it'll be coldest 68-degree water I step foot in.
Tons of pics already taken, more to come, but for now, back to the campsite for breakfast. Internet use will still be a bit rare, but the cell phone is still in play.
