Blargh. Apparently last night's events helped to contribute to my non-sleep last night. With Sage's screwing, money issues, and wedding stuff (see below) swimming in my head last night, my brain refused to shut itself off, giving me little sleep.

Apparently, it's easier to find a justice of the peace in Massachusetts than it is in New York. In MA, justices of the peace still exist and are plentiful. NY doesn't have them--they kind of have been absorbed to the judicial system as town justices, village justices, etc. While we now have a place to have the wedding ceremony and reception, we are still lacking an officiant. So over the past week, I've been calling local courts in the surrounding towns, and are all coming up with the same thing--justices are not willing to travel a town or village over to perform the ceremony; if April and I want to have a civil ceremony, it must be done in their courtroom during court hours (usually Monday-Friday).

Due to the mounting failure in trying to find a justice, it became known that April and family know a non-denominational minister (who apparently, is also one of their mechanics), and as such, have reached out to him. April and I go meet him tomorrow night, to see if marrying us heathens will go against his faith and therefore make him not want to marry us, but I'm having second thoughts about the whole thing. I did not want to go the religious route in the first place, and am feeling immensely uncomfortable. Not just because I'm not religious and don't feel right being married by someone who is, but also because I don't wish to offend someone by my total lack of care and disdain for religion. At least with a civil ceremony, the whole religious aspect is removed.

I'm so not looking forward to tomorrow night.
