Inflamed rabbit testes!
Friday, 22 January 2010 13:52It's been a while, but now I have some time--3.5 hours of "social release time"--to do up a proper LJ post and bring you all up to snuff on the goings-on in The Life of Brian.
The Decemberween/Januarymas parties have come and gone, and I once again have to give a big thank-you to everyone who came. Some of you I rarely see, and some of you haven't seen in years. It did me good to see all of you again--I hope it doesn't take another year before we meet again, or in the case of
speccygeekgrrl, another 5 years. Feel free to stop over at our place anytime. I've been posting pics of the parties on my Facebook, and soon I'll be posting the last weekend's party up there. However, I must express my disappointment at the total lack of orgies at these parties. I mean, really, people--all of us in one apartment, and almost no sexual tension? You disappoint me.
Between the parties, there's been work, and I'm also still adjusting to life with another person living with us. It means I can't prance around the apartment naked anymore (although, to be honest, it's just a body), and we also have to be quieter during sex (although, with as loud as the gorillas upstairs are, I'm half-tempted to out-sex them) and it also means that we've had to adjust financially. However, Danielle has begun her job search, and once she finds one, she'll be able to contribute to the apartment's expenses like food, utility bills, etc.
On the health front, it appears my digestive system decided to take some time and remind me that I do have Crohn's disease--suffered a round of food poisoning a couple of weeks ago, of which the effects lingered for over a week. What normally clears up in a couple of days took nearly a week and a half to go away. And then, yesterday, I had a flare-up, which knocked me out of work for the day. I'm better now, although my stomach feels like I've been doing sit-ups all night.
The spring semester has started, so my weekends will once again be taken up by schoolwork. However, Photo 2 is one of my classes, and I look forward to it--much more so than drawing. I'll happily spend 6 hours a day taking and developing pictures over drawing. I have an assignment this weekend, in fact. It's going to be a busy weekend--not only do I have schoolwork to attend to, I also have a civil service exam to take on Saturday.
I read the 6th Hitchhiker's book, And Another Thing... and I enjoyed it. Eoin Colfer did a decent job continuing the zaniness started by Douglas Adams. Now I have to hear the audiobook, as read by Simon Jones (aka Arthur Dent on the radio series).
And of course, the 11th Character Battle contest is in full swing. Tonight will mark the halfway point of the contest, with me recording a podcast. The contest will be taking a break this weekend. Also, some important contest news:
Since people are having problems registering to this site, and since Sudden Launch isn't really doing anything about it, I've decided to move the contest to a new message-board style site. It looks nearly identical to the current site, but has a bit more customization features. And a full-time support staff, should things go wrong. This site will go live effective this Monday, when Round 2 starts. If you want to register for this site now, go right ahead, but battles will not be posted on it until Monday. The new Battling Arena site is: http://charbattle.proboards.com/index.cgi
And that's all for now. Hope life's treating you well.
