a_bit_of_wit_2: (O hai)
Been a while, methinks. I keep saying this, but I need to use the damn thing more often. I mean, I pay for it.

On the physical front, I'm feeling much better since the last Remicade treatment. It only confirms my suspicion that I overdid myself at PAX and set my recovery back a couple of weeks. Hopefully I'm still feeling just as good when I go see the surgeon later this week and he has to pry me open.

Also, in 2 and a half weeks, I have to undergo another colonoscopy. It's been 5 years since being diagnosed with Crohn's, and so my gastroenterologist wants to have another look up there; not only to see if the disease has progressed, but also to see if the Remicade has reversed some of the damage that Crohn's has caused to my digestive system. Having already experienced a colonoscopy (and the lead-up prior), I can say with all certainty that I'm not looking forward to it. So much so that I took 2 days off for it; one for the procedure, one to recover.

Yet my boss had the balls to ask (I told her that I was having this procedure done in a couple of weeks) if I really needed the extra day to recover. Then again, my boss is a workaholic--she's of the mindset that if she's not there (or if anyone else in the office takes time off, for that matter), the Lottery WILL IMPLODE. So much so, that my boss will outright defy doctor's orders to rest and recover, work long days and come in on weekends for no pay--I'm not going to win any sympathy points from her when I tell her I need time off to recover from an invasive medical procedure. She was none too thrilled when I had to take 2 months off to recover from surgery.

Regardless, my health is more important than the Lottery. Whether I'm there or not, it'll still be standing, raking in the sales and contributing to state education (which it actually does, by the way--all the Lottery's profits do go towards funding state education).

Since withdrawing from school, life's been pretty good (outside of the small setback). I've been catching up on video games, recording lots of Downloadable Content episodes (download them on the iTunes store!!), and just trying to get back to a normal life. So far, things are moving. Slowly, but they are.

I must say, I'm looking forward to the warmer weather. I haven't picked up a proper camera (i.e. my 2 SLRs) since September, and I'm starting to feel a little itchy. Also looking forward to tennis. Lots and lots of tennis. I know that I'm gonna be sore as hell when I first start. Hell, my calves were sore for a couple days last week from having some good sex with the wife--I'm desperately out of practice. More's the pity.

So that's basically it for now...look for an upcoming announcement on Character Battle 13 veeeeeeeeery soon.
